Quote for the Day
"Never blame a legislative body for not doing something. When they do nothing, they don't hurt anybody. When they do something is when they become dangerous." -- Will Rogers

More Things That Should Be Banned
Many of my regular readers know that I am always on the lookout for things that are potentially dangerous and deadly. I think I may have found something that should be on this list, but has been overlooked most likely due to its outward appearance.
"Memphis police are on the hunt for a woman they say used a baby as a weapon to fight off security guards during a shoplifting attempt Wednesday." [link]
Anyone else up for urging politicians to start some sort of exploratory committee to look into the banning of this potentially dangerous weapon?

Top 40 Reasons to Support Gun Control
Ran across this and thought it was funny. I will give you a short preview of what is on the list.
"2. Washington DC's low murder rate of 80.6 per 100,000 is due to strict gun control, and Arlington, VA's high murder rate of 1.6 per 100,000 is due to the lack of gun control.
9. When confronted by violent criminals, you should "put up no defense — give them what they want, or run" (Handgun Control Inc. Chairman Pete Shields, Guns Don't Die - People Do, 1981, p. 125).
12. The 2nd Amendment, ratified in 1791, refers to the National Guard, which was created by an act of Congress in 1903.
13. The National Guard, funded by the federal government, occupying property leased to the federal government, using weapons owned by the federal government, punishing trespassers under federal law, is a state militia."
You can see the rest of the list here.

An Example of How to Handle Them
"Republicans kept the pressure up on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday, with Republican House leader John Boehner saying she should prove her allegation that the CIA lied about waterboarding, or apologize to the nation's intelligence officials.
"I think that she ought to either present the evidence or apologize, one or the other," Boehner (R-Ohio) said..." [link]
They're sort of like puppies. You have to catch them in the act, put their nose in it, then swat their tells.

Money Well Spent, Don't You Think?
I really had to roll my eyes at this one. I honestly cannot think of one single reason, even with my imagination in overdrive for spending U.S. Taxpayer dollars on this.
"The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job...The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as "female sex workers"--or FSW--and their handlers as "gatekeepers." [link]
One thing to keep in mind, notice how there is a change in language and noun usage to keep people from summoning mental images. "FSW" and "gatekeeper" what images would come to mind with whore and pimp. Doubt they would have been given $2.6 million if they would have used those terms.
The left excels at this practice. Using "assault weapon" instead of battle rifle or AR-15. "Automatic weapons" instead of the true label of semi-auto. "Extremists" rather than family oriented, deeply religious, or defenders of the Constitution.
They make it a word game and how they can shine whatever type of light on it they want to as long as they light they use benefits them or their agenda. Keep this in mind when you hear them speak and write. Look at how they use words and phrases. Be ever vigilant.

He Sure Sent Them a Message...
"Undeterred by U.S. and French hostage rescues that killed seven bandits, Somali pirates brazenly hijacked three more ships in the Gulf of Aden, the key waterway that's become the focal point of the world's fight against piracy." [link]
The "bold" strategic maneuvering of Obama and Secretary of State Clinton really seem to have made the Somali pirates think twice about hijacking another ship. In fact they thought so hard about it that the hijacked 3. I guess now instead of a chuckle from Clinton, we might get to see a good honest belly roll full fledged laugh-a-thon. I can also assume that it will take roughly three to four days for Obama to issue any type of statement, possibly longer.

More Keyboard and Monitor Ruiners
For some reason these always make me laugh. Even though they should in reality be making me cry and storm about in a rage. But oh well, some humor is definitely needed at times.
"Geithner: Government is the Answer to Solve Financial Crisis" [link] Yeah, yeah, we know. The government is the answer to all of life's ills.
"Obama to Dole More Government Aid to GM, Chrysler" [link] Is it me, or haven't we done this already?
"Obama to Sign Lands Bill Before 5 Days of Comment" [link] Surprise, surprise another lie. And an absolutely hilarious quote from the same story: "In most cases, we have posted legislation with five days' notice."
"Al Gore Leaves The Light On For Ya (Gore Residence Lit Up For "Earth Hour")" [link]
"U.N. 'Climate Change' Plan Would Likely Shift Trillions to Form New World Economy" [link]
Well, that's about all the laughs I can handle for a little bit. I hope all of you enjoy these headlines and the links to the stories. And remember, this is actual news not parody.

Some Humor
Great link for a list of top 5 mistakes Obama has blamed someone else for making. A little bit too lengthy for me to list them all, but I will post one or two and if interested you can go to the link and read them all for yourself.
"...Barack Obama said that, yes, he wanted to "ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns." That answer wasn't problematic for him in a run at the state Senate in Illinois, but hewing to that position would have made it impossible for him to get elected as President. So, Obama claimed a staffer filled out the questionnaire for him and got the answer wrong. One problem: his handwritten notes were "on the front page of the questionnaire."
"...after Obama was elected, he became enmeshed in scandal as Rod Blagojevich got caught trying to sell his Senate seat. So, what to do? Well, you know our President: he blamed Rahm Emanuel." [link]
You just gotta love how this man has made a career out of lying and then covering up his mistakes with more lies. No wonder he is such a successful politician. He is at the head of the pack when it comes to lying. Only problem is he gets caught up in it so easily. People are now starting to see through the haze a little bit and realize we have a person in power that is in way over their head and really has no idea on how to be president. But good for a laugh nonetheless.
