They Don't Like the Shoe on the Other Foot

Just goes to show that they cannot stand the tactics that they have used for so long to be turned against them. They act like they never expected it to happen and gauging so far by the reactions they didn't expect this type of backlash. It only goes to show how truly out of touch they are with the people they are supposed to be representing.

Change will have to come that is obvious. The question is from what corner will change come from. Will the people become lackadaisical again and let pork projects for their area persuade their voting? Or will this finally be the wake up call that enough is enough! The people need to take their country back and not be lured by promises of easy money and jobs that could vanish overnight. This country truly does need an infrastructure overhaul, but not in the form of roads and public works. This country needs solid industry, "affordable health care" (not universal, if you want it fine, if not that's your choice), a stable currency, and less corruption in government. These would cure the ails this country has.

The Bill of No Rights

While perusing the internet after a rather sleepless night I ran across this gem and thought I would share it with my readers. It could probably also be titled "Rational Thinking and Common Sense."

"We, the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid any more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt-ridden delusional and other liberal, commie, pinko bedwetters.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that a whole lot of people were confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim that they require a Bill of No Rights.

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone - not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the World is full of idiots, and probably always will be." [link]

Out of Touch With Reality

"I thought this was like a frequent-flier program," Sen. Kent Conrad, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, said of the special benefits. "I thought nothing of it." [link]

Let us just assume for a moment that Congressman Conrad speaks the truth. These words would have been spoken right in the middle of the housing bubble burst. How often does he think people go out an buy new homes. Quite a bit evidently if he makes comments like that above. And he is supposed to represent the people of his state with a warped sense of reality like that?

Now lets assume that he lied. He knew he was getting the good deal because of his clout as a senator and there was a little quid-pro-quo going on. Then he either acted illegally and/or unethically and does not deserve to represent the good people of North Dakota.

Gun Show Problem

Yep it happened again. Went to a local gun show with some goodies to try and sell. Did not sell one single thing, but did end up a gun lighter traded two for one. Anytime I go with the intention of trying to sell or get rid of it never seems to work out that way. Maybe I should go with the mindset that I gonna buy the crap out of everything, then again if I went with that mindset I might end up broke and bankrupt.

Ah well, it seems to "work" for Congress.

It's funny (not really) how both sides only use the rules and laws when it benefits them at that time. It also frustrates me that Congress "gave away" its Constitutional authority to coin the money, yet then has no form of oversight or monitoring in place, and for the most part does not seem to care.

Private banks must be audited per government regulations, but I keep forgetting the government bank does not have to follow the rules that everyone else does somehow they are "above the law".

Range Time

Sorry for the lack of new and exciting posts today, but in a very rare instance of several family members being off (on the same day for once) a trip to the range was in order. Well not really a formal range, but we are lucky enough to own some property where a good bit of shooting can be done. And that will probably be how I spend the 4th as well.

Nothing like doing a little shooting to celebrate the anniversary of America's Independence!

"Liberalism" At It's Finest

Did anyone really expect the supreme "Nanny" state of nanny states to fair any better? California is a good lesson of what "liberalism" has come to. I use the term "liberalism" in quotes because they are not really true liberals.

True liberals actually include Thomas Jefferson, Voltaire, Washington, et. al. Today's "liberals" are not what true liberalism or classical liberalism was about. Most of today's freedom lover several hundred years ago would actually be classified as liberals. Don't believe me do some research.

Uncle Sam seems to get really upset when the "peasants" take something that Uncle Sam got through money gained by force(taxation). Granted it was right for the woman to take something that other tax payers had payed for but I still just love the irony of a thief prosecuting a thief.

Getting Things Rolling Again

I would like to apologize to my frequent visitors for the lack of information posted recently. Unfortunately there have been issues at work that have had me being there from roughly 8 am to 12 pm quite a bit more than I would like. Looks like this will abate in the very near future and I will be able to get back to posting quite a bit more frequently.

It is also unfortunate that I have missed quite a bit of interesting news going on nationally and internationally. From the North Korean debacle, the Iranian elections, and the government takeover/attempted takeover of just about everything private sector.

There is never a lack of information about freedoms and liberties being eroded on a daily basis, there just always is not enough time to discuss them.

I look forward to the slowdown at work and the time to get back to keeping you informed and entertained.

A Real Blood Boiler

The more I read the angrier I got. How about these same advocates of robbing from everybody to give to who knows what bureaucratic entity start screaming to the government to "STOP SPENDING MONEY!" It really is not that hard to do. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it can be done, and millions upon millions of Americans are doing it on a daily basis.

I fear that if this is the "fix" that the government comes up with then the people will only be left with one box to stand on seeing that the soapbox, the ballot box, and the jury box have failed. That lone box will be the cartridge box and has been used to great effect for hundreds of years in getting the attention of tyrants and despots alike.

A Personal Apology

I would like to apologize to my regular and non-regular readers for last week's lapse of material. I had to be off on a job related training on short notice, and alas, I have no laptop as of yet. On a positive note, the training for my job was Aikido Control Techniques, which only expanded on my knowledge of personal defense.

I Plan on Some Flack From This

By now many of you that keep up with my blog probably know about the passage of the concealed carry in national parks having been re instituted. What will probably surprise nearly all of you is that I was against this legislation!

Now before the flame wars start let me explain. First off this legislation was added as an amendment to another bill before congress. I have always thought that this was unethical and underhanded (even when it comes to the 2nd Amendment). Secondly the original bill was a bill that imposes restrictions on credit card companies. I believe this to be un-Constitutional. Article 1 Section 10 of the Constitution forbids states from impairing obligations to contracts. However a pretty good argument could be made against the Federal government via the 14th Amendment and the due process clause.

Also notice that republicans (not true conservatives) in order to stand up for gun rights had to go against their own free market rhetoric (restricting credit card companies, a for profit business and industry). Granted nearly all of the credit card companies use aggressive tactics all of these changes in an individuals credit card fees are listed in the contract when they sign up for one, it is ones own responsibility to read the fine print.

Isn't it funny to watch republicans line up to vote for firearms at the expense of fiscal responsibility? Weren't they always the party that wanted the government to keep their hands off of what someone did financially?

Don't get me wrong, I am glad that concealed carry of firearms is "legal" but it should never have been illegal due to the 2nd Amendment.

Obama Drug Czar to End "War on Drugs"!

Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske..."rejects the formulation of the “War on Drugs” and voices an inclination to treat American drug abuse as a national health challenge: In his first interview since being confirmed to head the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Gil Kerlikowske said Wednesday the bellicose analogy was a barrier to dealing with the nation’s drug issues.

“Regardless of how you try to explain to people it’s a ‘war on drugs’ or a ‘war on a product,’ people see a war as a war on them. We’re not at war with people in this country.” [link]

Oh, I see now! We are just going to change what we call it, but continue on with the same strategy that has cost billions of dollars, loss of life, and has led to the drug abuse epidemic growing at an exponential rate.

Remember a few posts back about how the left loves to use wording, verbage, and political correctness to try and win support without actually changing anything of substance?

Money Well Spent, Don't You Think?

I really had to roll my eyes at this one. I honestly cannot think of one single reason, even with my imagination in overdrive for spending U.S. Taxpayer dollars on this.

"The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job...The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as "female sex workers"--or FSW--and their handlers as "gatekeepers." One thing to keep in mind, notice how there is a change in language and noun usage to keep people from summoning mental images. "FSW" and "gatekeeper" what images would come to mind with whore and pimp. Doubt they would have been given $2.6 million if they would have used those terms.

The left excels at this practice. Using "assault weapon" instead of battle rifle or AR-15. "Automatic weapons" instead of the true label of semi-auto. "Extremists" rather than family oriented, deeply religious, or defenders of the Constitution.

They make it a word game and how they can shine whatever type of light on it they want to as long as they light they use benefits them or their agenda. Keep this in mind when you hear them speak and write. Look at how they use words and phrases. Be ever vigilant.

They Continue Despite Being More Deadly Than Guns

I have tried to warn people before about the dangers that the health care profession poses to any and all people. Why are there still no cries from the left to outlaw them?

Someone is Full of It!

I laughed until it hurt after reading this sentence, then I finished reading the sentence and it really hurt:
"...including support for legislation that would require Congress to pay for any new programs by raising taxes or cutting other expenditures..." [link] Now do you really think Congress is going to stop spending money? .... What is gonna happen to your paycheck now?

"Earlier this week I held my first Cabinet meeting and sent a clear message: cut what doesn't work," --Barack Obama [link]

Keep in mind Obama "demanded" a $100 million cut by his cabinet. Don't worry with the fact that this amount was only roughly one-twentieth of 1 percent of March's federal deficit [source]

I only have this to say to you Chairman Obama, go take a flying leap you sociofascist/Marxist, commie loving, freedom hating, community organizing, spend other's money, blame someone else, keep your change, piece of ...!

Liberty Is a Bitter Pill

I have wrote before that liberty is not easy, and we all know that it is not free. However what a lot of people fail to realize is that liberty is also a bitter pill. A bitter pill, but not a toxic one. To truly embrace liberty, I must also be willing to allow the same types of liberty to others.

This often times means allowing others to act in a way that I find immoral, unethical, and personally reprehensible. However, as long as they do not violate my rights, or anyone else's rights then by all means allow them to do as they wish, it is their life, their conscience, and their soul.

Gun owners in particular, it has been said, don't care whether you personally decide to own a gun or not, if you decide not to, then do not infringe on the rights of those that choose to do so. That is your personal choice and you are free to make it, just don't try and force your beliefs on us.

Drug usage is the same way. Use what you want to, when you want to, how you want to, but your using had better not infringe on anyone else's rights. Get behind the wheel of a vehicle, you deserve what you get, if not worse. OD, don't expect my unlawfully gained tax dollars to pay for your lifesaving medications.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture. There are plenty of choices and lifestyles that I find wrong for many different reasons, but that does not give me the right to say that they are wrong and should be forbidden, banned, outlawed, etc...

Let each person choose their own way in life so long as it does not keep you from choosing yours. If whatever someone else chooses infringes on your rights, then you have the right to do something about it. If what someone chooses does not interfere with your rights but only enrages you morally, ethically, etc... then if you are a liberty lover you will allow them to do as they please, choose what label fits you best: socialist, fascist, hatemonger, etc... Just remember if you feel you are right in taking someone elses rights, then what stops someone else from taking yours. This is the difference between the bitter pill and the toxic pill.

For the Sake of the Children: Is It Now Time to Ban Health Care Workers?

What is the world coming to. Physicians are already regulated, registered, tested, etc...by the government and yet this still happens. I have already wrote about the dangers of physicians and health care professionals to any one's well being. They are in fact the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. Yet we continue to come up with these problems. Evidently the registration is not working as intended, I guess for the sake of the children and the safety of all involved we should just ban this profession all together.

Skip That Doctors Appointment, Buy a Gun Instead

"We have 32 people being murdered by guns every day in this country," said Michael Wolkowitz, a board member of the Brady Center, which lobbies for tighter gun restrictions. "If peanut butter or pistachio nuts or spinach killed that number of people once in one day, they'd be pulled by the [Food and Drug Administration]." [link]

Ok, Mr. Wolkowitz, let's look at your "logic" in two parts. Part I: If there are 32 murders a day that comes to the unfortunate total of 11,680 people a year murdered by guns in the United States. Unfortunately murderers are criminals and by definition criminals will not follow the laws. They will find a way around any and all gun control regulations, as they do already. So that statistic is irrelevant.

Let's look at the the second part of your statement. Part II: I am assuming that by using the word "pulled" you mean banned, regulated, restricted, etc...such as you would like to see with firearms. Well we can look at other things that cause more than 11680 deaths per year in the United States and see how hard they are to come by.

Wait a minute, how about if I can show you something that is responsible for roughly 225,000 deaths per year, but when I pick up my phone book is far more prevalent than gun stores, firearms, or sporting goods in the yellow pages. How about physicians! Yes believe it or not physicians and the health care establishment as a whole are the third leading leading cause of death in the United States behind cancer and heart disease. Yet I can go see a doctor anytime I want to. How come they are still allowed to practice? Why aren't they being "pulled" by a government agency? Go spread your lies and your untruths elsewhere.

As for me, I have a cough and a sniffle, but for some reason I think I will head to the range now instead of the doctor...
