NC Judge Orders Homeschool Mother to Put Kids in Public School

"Venessa Mills is fighting a legal battle for the heart and soul of homeschooling...Judge Ned W. Mangum stripped her of the right to homeschool, and ordered her three children to enter public school...Mills was forced to defend her right to homeschool during divorce proceedings brought on by her husband's unfaithfulness. Mr. Mills admitted, under oath, to repeatedly committing adultery. Even with abundant evidence showing the Mills children are well adjusted and well educated, Judge Mangum ruled overwhelmingly against Mrs. Mills on every point. He stated the children would do better in public school despite the fact that they are currently at or beyond their grade level. Evidence showed two children tested several grades ahead...he told Mrs. Mills public school will "challenge the ideas you've taught them." [link]

Let me distill the above for just a moment, and I urge you to read the article at the link I posted it has much more information in it. Venessa Mills was only involved in divorce proceedings and homeschooling was brought up. This should not have any bearing whatsoever on divorce proceedings unless the children are blatantly being abused. This judge, against all evidence forces Ms. Mills to enroll her children in public school to "challenge the ideas you've taught them." In other words this judge has told her send them to the government indoctrination centers for processing and brainwashing.

I for one hope she battles this to the supreme court and wins. I would also like to see judge Mangum get disbarred and get a dose of good old American Patriotism:

What "Healthcare Reform" Will Look Like

"The key pledge of Labour's NHS reform has been to reduce waiting lists and now the majority of patients are treated within the target of 18 weeks from seeing their GP...It means patients will have to wait months for routine operations as surgeons prioritize emergencies rather than scheduled cases." [link]

Yep you read that correct imagine waiting 18 weeks to get treated by a doctor. Also wonder what constitutes an "emergency"? We know how well the government machine reduces waste, spending, red tape, and streamlines the whole process don't we? So letting them take over healthcare is a wonderful idea right?

Obama: No earmarks, after this

"As a candidate, Barack Obama once said that a president has to be able to do more than one thing at a time. Wednesday he proved it, though not in the way he had in mind. He criticized pork-barrel spending in the form of "earmarks," urging changes in the way that Congress adopts the spending proposals. Then he signed a spending bill that contains nearly 9,000 of them, some that members of his own staff shoved in last year when they were still members of Congress. "Let there be no doubt, this piece of legislation must mark an end to the old way of doing business, and the beginning of a new era of responsibility and accountability," Obama said." [link]

I mean honestly, how can SNL even attempt to do a parody on this man. He is a leaving, breathing, walking contradiction and a parody of everything he has said. Sometimes we just have to enjoy the humor in everything that is going on around us and to you Mr. Obama I must say:

Quote for the Day

"While the people have property, arms in their hands, and only a spark of noble spirit, the most corrupt Congress must be mad to form any project of tyranny." -- Rev. Nicholas Collin
