Empire State Building "Celebrates" China's Revolution

Last night on September 30th the Empire State Building in New York City decked itself out in red and yellow lights as celebration to the 60th anniversary of China's revolution. How fitting that a building constructed during the Great Depression to highlight the perseverance of the American people now celebrates this anniversary. Here is a brief list of some of the things that this revolution has accomplished:

  • In the years following the communist takeover of China-- known as the Yan’an Rectification Movement-- thousands of intellectuals and others who might derail the indoctrination of the populace with Marxist and Leninist principles were killed.
  • This campaign was followed by the Zhen Fan and Shu Fan which targeted former Chinese Nationalist officials and employees of Western corporations, business owners, landowners, and intellectuals. An estimated three to five million people were killed, and another 1.5 million were sent to labor camps.
  • Various campaigns and movements kept targeting intellectuals and other enemies of the state. But try as hard as they might, the secret police and communist officials couldn’t kill as many Chinese as efficiently as the widespread famine triggered by the Great Leap Forward --Chairman Mao’s attempts to impose collectivism on China’s peasant farmers -- which resulted in between 20 and 43 million people starving to death (Mao himself always seemed very well-fed).
  • Mao’s subsequent economic and social engineering programs were also dismal failures and fearing that capitalist sentiment was stealthily creeping into the hearts and minds of the people, he launched the Cultural Revolution and went after his enemies and those pesky intellectuals with a vengeance. With the educated being specifically targeted, schools and universities were shuttered and students from urban areas were forcibly relocated to the remote countryside. Illiteracy rates soared, ancient Chinese artifacts and monuments were destroyed as a symbolic break with “the old ways of thinking” and traditional customs and religious ceremonies were systematically stamped out. As many as 36 million people were persecuted; of these up to 1.5 million were killed and an equal number maimed. [link]

So Much for Representative Government

"I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I'm doing is going to help them....I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them," Massa said. [link]

Talk about a slimy worm! This one let's the cat out of the bag in a big way doesn't he. Effectively he is saying "I do not care what you choose and want, you don't know what is good for you. I am from the government and I know what is in your best interest." Idiots like this need to be voted out of office and then derided and ridiculed until ran out of town.

Almost Funny (Notice the Dates and Times of Headlines)

Obama priorities won't burden middle class: Summers

Obama officials: Taxes may rise to pay health care

August 3, 2009 - 7:35am [link]

Talk about a complete reversal in headlines and statements by the Obama administration. Funny that an administration that can't get its acts and lies together within a 24 hour time frame wants to take over health care for all.

Newest Victim Disarmament Zone

Officials said Wednesday that starting July 17th, no guns will be allowed on Beale Street. All clubs and businesses will post signs notifying patrons of the ban.

Police officers and private security guards will use handheld metal detectors to search patrons before allowing them inside the famous street's barricades.

Merchants will have to cover the cost, but they say it's worth it to maintain Beale Street's reputation as one of the country's safest entertainment districts.

John Elkington of Performa Entertainment says he wants to offer tourists and other patrons the opportunity to visit Beale without the fear of encountering armed citizens. [link]

You can now count this place off my places in America to visit. It is a shame really, I visited Beale Street several years ago and it is truly a nice place. Good entertainment, good food, and a relatively family friendly atmosphere. However if you will no longer allow me to legally protect myself and my family then I will not be going. For those that request it though, will you provide an armed security guard or a police officer to escort people around?

How long do you think it will be before the criminal element realizes there is a massive victim disarmament zone full of tourists with cash?

A "Good" Way to Get a Majority Labeled as Terrorists

"The written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks:

“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”

— Attacking the Pentagon

IEDs

— Hate crimes against racial groups

— Protests

The correct answer, according to the exam, is "Protests." [link]

Very good backdoor way to start getting quite a few people to start thinking about things the way the government wants them to. This is also known as propaganda and it has been used for thousands of years to great effect by dictator and tyrant alike to sway the support of the masses one way or another.

A Real Blood Boiler

"With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long considered politically taboo: a national sales tax...But advocates say few other options can generate the kind of money the nation will need to avert fiscal calamity." [link]

The more I read the angrier I got. How about these same advocates of robbing from everybody to give to who knows what bureaucratic entity start screaming to the government to "STOP SPENDING MONEY!" It really is not that hard to do. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it can be done, and millions upon millions of Americans are doing it on a daily basis.

I fear that if this is the "fix" that the government comes up with then the people will only be left with one box to stand on seeing that the soapbox, the ballot box, and the jury box have failed. That lone box will be the cartridge box and has been used to great effect for hundreds of years in getting the attention of tyrants and despots alike.

More Things That Should Be Banned

Many of my regular readers know that I am always on the lookout for things that are potentially dangerous and deadly. I think I may have found something that should be on this list, but has been overlooked most likely due to its outward appearance.

"Memphis police are on the hunt for a woman they say used a baby as a weapon to fight off security guards during a shoplifting attempt Wednesday." [link]

Anyone else up for urging politicians to start some sort of exploratory committee to look into the banning of this potentially dangerous weapon?

A Model of Political/Financial Systems: Using Cows

I wish that I could take credit for this witty (scarily true) post. I have to print it in its entirety it is so good. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

SOCIALISM

You have 2 cows. You give one to your neighbor.

COMMUNISM

You have 2 cows. The State takes both and gives you some milk.

FASCISM

You have 2 cows. The State takes both and sells you some milk.

NAZISM

You have 2 cows. The State takes both and shoots you.

BUREAUCRACY

You have 2 cows. The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other, and then throws the milk away…

TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM

You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull. Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows. You sell them and retire on the income.

SURREALISM

You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION

You have two cows. You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows. Later, you hire a consultant to analyze why the cow has dropped dead.

ENRON VENTURE CAPITALISM

You have two cows. You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows. The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company. The annual report says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more. You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States , leaving you with nine cows. No balance sheet provided with the release.

The public then buys your bull.

A FRENCH CORPORATION

You have two cows. You go on strike, organise a riot, and block the roads, because you want three cows.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION

You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create a clever cow cartoon image called ‘Cowkimon’ and market it worldwide.

A GERMAN CORPORATION

You have two cows. You re-engineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month, and milk themselves.

AN ITALIAN CORPORATION

You have two cows, but you don’t know where they are. You decide to have lunch.

A RUSSIAN CORPORATION

You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five cows. You count them again and learn you have 42 cows. You count them again and learn you have 2 cows. You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.

A SWISS CORPORATION

You have 5000 cows. None of them belong to you. You charge the owners for storing them.

A CHINESE CORPORATION

You have two cows. You have 300 people milking them. You claim that you have full employment, and high bovine productivity. You arrest the newsman who reported the real situation.

AN INDIAN CORPORATION

You have two cows. You worship them.

A BRITISH CORPORATION

You have two cows. Both are mad.

AN IRAQI CORPORATION

Everyone thinks you have lots of cows. You tell them that you have none. No-one believes you, so they bomb you and invade your country. You still have no cows, but at least now you are part of a Democracy…

AN AUSTRALIAN CORPORATION

You have two cows. Business seems pretty good. You close the office and go for a few beers to celebrate.

OBAMANOMICS

You have 2 cows both are sick, you spend $787 billion on Pork, and wonder why the cows died. But you still own 2 failing auto manufacturers, a busted insurance firm, and a bunch of banks. You can do this only because you won the election!

If the Shoe Were on the Other Foot

It happened once already. That is how the Democrats gained control of Congress. However after all the corruption that was brought to light in the Republican party let us now take a look at issues going on in the Democratic party:

"Barack Obama, who vowed he'd provide a transparent administration staffed with disinterested public servants...appointed an admitted tax cheat to run the Treasury Department -- and he's hardly the only one in the administration." [link]

Charles Rangle, Chairman of House Ways and Means Committee: Under investigation for failing to report income from his Caribbean villa.

Chris Dodd, Chairman of Senate Banking Committee: Got special deals from sub prime lender Countrywide, has yet to explain million plus dollar "cottage" in Ireland which could possibly have come as a favor for helping to get a pardon granted for a felon under Clinton.

Jack Murtha, Rep. Pennsylvania: How much federal money has he diverted to cronies and lobbyists?

John Edwards, ex-presidential candidate: Being investigated for misuse of campaign funds that were funneled to his then mistress and her company.

This is just a sampling of what is going on within the Democratic party. Imagine all the corruption that has not made it into the public yet. Sort of like an iceberg I like to think we have only seen the 10% that is above the waterline.

Paving the Road to Tyranny

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is working to buffer lawmakers from federal investigators...Democrats facing scrutiny include the chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania, for his close ties to the defense lobby firm PMA Group, which is under federal investigation; House Ways and Means Chairman Charles B. Rangel of New York about a number of tax issues; Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. of Illinois..." [link]

And the list goes on, and on, and on... However if Pelosi has her way it will be a good 'ol Leftist romp through taxpayer money, rights, ethics, whatever. All they have to do is block any investigations to themselves (well minus their enemies). See what David Codrea has to say about this here: The War on Guns: Pelosi Makes It Official: "We're Above the Law"

Someone is Full of It!

"...Barack Obama unveiled new steps on Saturday to restore U.S. fiscal discipline..."

I laughed until it hurt after reading this sentence, then I finished reading the sentence and it really hurt:
"...including support for legislation that would require Congress to pay for any new programs by raising taxes or cutting other expenditures..." [link] Now do you really think Congress is going to stop spending money? .... What is gonna happen to your paycheck now?

"Earlier this week I held my first Cabinet meeting and sent a clear message: cut what doesn't work," --Barack Obama [link]

Keep in mind Obama "demanded" a $100 million cut by his cabinet. Don't worry with the fact that this amount was only roughly one-twentieth of 1 percent of March's federal deficit [source]

I only have this to say to you Chairman Obama, go take a flying leap you sociofascist/Marxist, commie loving, freedom hating, community organizing, spend other's money, blame someone else, keep your change, piece of ...!

Happy Debt Day!

"The symbolic "holiday," which falls on Sunday, marks the point in the fiscal year when government spending exceeds revenue.

In other words, the government will stop making money and start borrowing on Sunday.

And it's coming earlier than ever, according to House Minority Leader John Boehner, who's pointing to Debt Day as yet another symptom of a government he says is spending too much, borrowing too much and taxing too much. Last year's Debt Day fell more than three months later, on Aug. 5.

"All the revenue for this fiscal year will be spent as of Sunday," Boehner, R-Ohio, said. With the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, he said, "everything that happens after Sunday through ... the balance of this fiscal year is going to have to be borrowed from our kids and grandkids." [link]

Isn't it nice to know that because of an out of control government every child that will born from this point forward will be "indebted" to the tune of between $30-$50K (dependent upon sources). Stop and think about that for just a moment. Each and every child born, in order to payoff government debt effectively is born owing the U.S. Government $30-$50K dollars. Good thing we live in the land of the free isn't it?

Spend it Like You Got it O!

"...Obama has shown he isn't afraid to spend billions of dollars on corporate bailouts or to run up trillions of dollars in U.S. debt to battle an economic crisis.

But in doing so, he has initiated the largest expansion of federal government since World War II and set up a massive challenge for his administration -- one that officials are already warning will be fraught with peril.

...Timothy Geithner told a congressionally appointed oversight panel this week that America's banks are still broken, despite all their bailout billions. And an inspector general assigned to the bailout program concluded this week that a private-public partnership designed to buy up bad assets is tilted in favor of private investors and creates "potential unfairness to the taxpayer." [link]

So everything is still broke, money has been created out of thin air, the size of the federal government has doubled in size in less than 100 days, and all this is supposed to be good and bring about "change" and "hope".

Barney Frank: Enemy of Total Freedom

“I would let people gamble on the Internet,” Frank said. “I would let adults smoke marijuana; I would let adults do a lot of things, if they choose."

He added: “But allowing them total freedom to take on economic obligations that spill over into the broader society? The individual is not the only one impacted here, when bad decisions get made in the economic sphere, it causes problems.” [link]

Interesting how he can allow some freedoms and not others. Freedom is not as easy as pick and choose Barney Rubble. Freedom also comes with responsibility, you make a bad choice your likely to get bit on the ass by it later on. Prime example was forcing banks to make loans in all areas where they operate. Forget about low-income families living in these areas, just force the banks to make the loans then swallow the losses. That is what has gotten us in this mess.

In the past a family, individual, whatever goes in for a loan and the bank would pretty much know if they could make payments or not. If you could wonderful sign by the X and give us $XXXXX each month. If you couldn't sorry, "You need a larger down payment." Or, "You may want to think about something more in your price range."

Freedom works by guiding individuals to make choices that are best for them, because they will get rewards from good choices, and quite the opposite from poor choices. Yes, in a way poor decisions have got us into this trouble, however in the past these decisions would not have been allowed to take place to start with.

Oath Keepers vs. Oath breakers

From today's GRE column.

3 Cheers for Government Ran Educa...Indoctrination Centers

"...a nationwide study shows the magnitude of the gap: the average high school graduation rate in the nation’s 50 largest cities was 53 percent..." [link]

Wonder if there is any correlation to being uneducated, unemployable, and the amount of crime in a given area? If so, wouldn't that make the government responsible since they fund these schools that are failing? Just something to think about.

Is This How It Works Obama?

"The top 10 recipients of the government's $700 billion financial bailout spent about $9.5 million on federal lobbying during the first three months of the year.

The biggest spender was bailed-out automaker General Motors Corp., which devoted $2.8 million to lobbying in the first quarter of 2009. It has received $13.4 billion in government loans and could get $5 billion more, according to a government report released Tuesday." [link]

Let me see if I understand this correctly? The government gives taxpayer money to organizations that have grossly mismanaged money and have not been able to earn a profit and are on the verge of going bankrupt. In return these same companies turn around and give some of the money to federal lobby's in order to secure even more money. Makes you wonder how much taxpayer money these scum have also contributed to scum in suits known as "Congressional Members"?

More Reports on the FBI and Domestic Spying

We have already looked at one case where the FBI were spying on law abiding citizens. Now we have another.

"Two FBI workers are accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on teenage girls as they undressed and tried on prom gowns at a charity event at a West Virginia mall.

The FBI employees have been charged with conspiracy and committing criminal invasion of privacy. They were working in an FBI satellite control room at the mall when they positioned a camera on temporary changing rooms and zoomed in for at least 90 minutes on girls dressing for the Cinderella Project fashion show, Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said Monday." [link]

I wonder what these agents were looking for. Also wonder if any of these teenagers were underage. If so then we have a sex crime and will need to register these FBI agents into a centralized system...ran by the FBI. Hmmm, wonder how this will end up turning out?

That's Mighty Big of Him

"President Obama on Monday plans to gather his Cabinet for the first time as president and challenge it to cut $100 million in the next 90 days, two senior administration officials said." [link]

This huge cut equals roughly .00012% of the massive $785 billion porkulus bill. How about you look at some of the pork in that bill and see what kind of cuts can be made right off the top.

Do you think Obama actually think this $100 million ploy will work to appease the public. I am sure that for some it will. Step back and look at what this administration has already spent. This is not a challenge it is more like spitting in the faces of the American people.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of Amerika

"If you one of the estimated 750,000 Americans who attended one of about 600 TEA parties last week, you might have seen media cameras covering the event. Media cameras, however, were not the only cameras taking video at these events, something that has at least one current FBI agent concerned over the future of America...placed his concerns for true patriots of the U.S. over his own career when he confided that covert surveillance was “planned and performed” at each of the TEA parties that took place last Tuesday." [link]

Isn't that nice to know. Wonder when law abiding Americans who have the right to peaceably assemble, the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the right to speak freely became the enemy? Could it be they became the enemy when those that have no love, or regard for this great nation or our Constitution came into power? And I am not just talking about Obama, Bush probably did more damage to the Constitution than Obama has done. But when will it end? When will the government that is supposed to be ran by the people, allow the people to do as they will so long as they do not infringe on the rights of others?
