Already Looking for a Scapegoat?

"As he starts his second 100 days as president, Barack Obama must yield much of his agenda's fate to Congress.

In his news conference Wednesday night, Obama acknowledged the prod-and-wait role he now plays on many issues." [link]

Yeah, right, like Obama and his pit bull Emmanual have taken prod-and-wait approach to anything that has happened yet. Think maybe the Obama lapdogs (MSM) and Obama realize things are really ugly out there, and they had better start looking for someone to blame other than the Lighbringer?

Our Tax Dollars at Work

"Talks between the Treasury Department and lenders aimed at keeping Chrysler LLC out of bankruptcy broke down late Wednesday, making it all but certain that the car maker will file for Chapter 11 protection Thursday..." [link]

Let me get this straight, taxpayers pump billions into this corporation (not willfully mind you, but forced by the government both the Bush and Obama administration) being told it is the only way to save it, and it still tanks? Aren't you glad the government is here to help us?

Quote for the Day

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life." -- John F. Kennedy

I usually don't comment on the Quote of the Day, I usually like for it to stand for itself. However I felt I should interject on this one and say: Re-read this quote and remember that this quote is from an icon to the left. How soon they forget the ideals of their own.

Gun Control Loopholes: From the Left's Point of View

"Modern government is not only a lawmaker. Indeed, the most effective executive powers may not derive from statutes at all. The government that President Obama oversees is also a gigantic, well-funded procurement agent. And it can—and should—use that power to change American gun policies."

You're right on one point at least. The most effective executive powers do not derive from statutes at all, they derive from the people. Remember that pesky "We the People" part of the Constitution?

"What is striking is that the government buys guns from manufacturers who also sell them to criminals—either knowingly or by willfully overlooking the behavior of the retail outlets that the gun companies use as their distribution system."

Really, where is your proof that gun manufacturers sell to criminals? Show me a bill of sale directly from a gun manufacturer to a known criminal. And I don't mean some private business owner that did not fill out or file a 4473 improperly, or one who was wrangled on a minor technicality by the BATFE.

"If President Obama wants to devise a creative way to limit gun violence, he will use his power as the world's largest consumer to require the cooperation of gun manufacturers. If government cannot legislate the conduct it wants, then it can use market power to buy it." [link]

Uh-Oh! You just let the cat out of the bag didn't you? Couldn't you have just said: If we can't get our way via legislation and with the consent of the people. We will just become tyrants and do as we please.

Now a few questions for you ex-Gov Spitzer and whoever you are Peter Pope. I guess that the soaring profits by both Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger & Co. are not due to government buying up their supplies yet, is that correct? Hmmm, you mean private citizens are causing those increased profits? I am sure the government could waste more tax payer dollars to prove whatever it wants to prove though, right?

Also does this mean that the government shouldn't buy from itself? Here is a list of FBI agents who committed violent or criminal acts. So can the government still buy from these companies but not arm the FBI with those weapons?

Don't get me wrong I know that there is just a small percentage of law enforcement officers that are criminals. But just as that is the case the same is true of society in general. The vast majority of people are not criminals, it just takes a few bad apples to give them a bad name. So you are for punishing the many because of the actions of a few?

Some Thoughts on the 2nd Amendment

In studying the 2nd Amendment and the history behind it, I as a pro-gun advocate have noticed several things, most of these have already been expounded upon in detail by other’s that support gun rights. I will merely mention them here as a background for this piece. The first one being that the people of the 2nd Amendment are the same people as are referred to under the 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th, and 10th Amendments. Each of these other amendments have been upheld by courts to apply to individual citizens. That means the 2nd Amendment is not solely for the arming of an army and/or National Guard force(s).

Secondly the Constitution was written in plain English (for the day) and would have been meant to have been easily understood by the vast majority of colonists to whom it would have applied. In fact the Constitution was not only circulated to large cities, but also to smaller hamlets/towns/settlements so that the colonists could read (or have it read) and discuss whether to approve it or not. Let us also not forget that at this point and time a sizeable portion of the population had at least one firearm in their homes to supply food, and aid in the town/settlements defense (remember, Indian attacks were very common at this time). Hunting at this time was not a “sport”, but rather a way of survival for a large part of the population.

From here you should have gotten the general idea, but I have one other point that is very rarely mentioned, or even brought up. We have all heard by now about the militia of the day and how each and every able bodied man was expected to take parts in the routine drills/exercises enough to be familiar with how a group of men fought as a group (at least in the military philosophies of the day). Each man was expected to provide his own weapon, but if he could not then one would be supplied for him.

Here is where things start to get interesting. What type of weapon do you think those that could supply their own brought along, a smooth-bore musket or a rifle? The vast majority showed up to these exercises with rifles, because the smooth-bore musket was not practical for everyday colonial life. The smooth-bore was the choice of the military because with large amounts of troops it was easier to reload and fire volleys than was the rifle. However, it was severely inaccurate as compared to the rifle. Hence a case could be made that the rifle in a way was far superior to the smooth-bore that was in common military usage. Therefore the founders by their wording of the 2nd Amendment intended for the people to be able to arm themselves with firearms superior to those of the modern military, at least as far as accuracy is concerned.

Quote for the Day

"When the federal government is more concerned with militias than street gangs, then you know for certain that someone real high up there is scared of something." -- Right on the Web

More Hoplophobia

Hoplophobia: A term coined by Jeff Cooper to describe someone who has an irrational fear of firearms.

"An apparent organized flexing of Second Amendment rights last weekend was a bit too Wild West for some local citizens and business owners.

Police and deputies responded to a number of complaints about citizens packing sidearms at restaurants, stores and other public areas.

None of the gun carriers was cited." [link]

Notice once again the gun-grabber use of the "Wild West" fallacy. It is interesting to note that several people were approached by the police in several different areas, and guess what? Not one of them was a criminal or doing anything against the law. Even more surprising was not one of these law abiding gun owners later that day turned criminal and hurt anyone with their firearm. A bit later in the article we get this wonderful bit of "wisdom":

"Stellingworth and Undersheriff Thomas Finco said that citizens who exercise the right to carry guns openly should realize it alarms the public and police."

You know what, it doesn't matter! It alarms gun owners when others try to infringe on our rights. It alarms Americans when we hear report after report of police officers acting like criminals (see all these reports by David Codrea). It alarms the public when we, as American citizens are labeled as potential terrorists (MIAC, DHS Report, Virginia Police Report).

Certain people need to understand those that support personal responsibility, the United States Constitution, freedom, and liberty, are rarely those that you need to be afraid of, or alarmed about. If you want to know who to be alarmed about try turning on the T.V. and see what Congress is up to, pick up a newspaper and see what your elected officials are doing. Leave those of us that mind our own business and live our lives as we see fit alone.

Innocent Life Saved With Firearm

"A 42-year-old Midlothian man was fatally shot in self-defense Friday night, Arlington police said.

Rodney Kennedy was in his ex-wife's home when he was shot by his former father-in-law, 67, police said. The shooting happened at 10 p.m. during an altercation, according to reports." [link]

Purely conjecture, but based on past instances of events like these the man probably had a restraining order against him, broke or attempted to break in, was confronted by ex father-in-law and was shot. This could very well have ended badly if the woman would have been home alone with no firearm for protection. Like I said purely conjecture, but you can look to the past to see how these usually turn out.

Forget That Pepper Spray, Pack the Pistol

"The report found that the Department of Defense's Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP) has spent $386 million since it was formed in 1996, and created exactly zero useful non-lethal weapons." [link]

Translation: Listen to what millions of law abiding gun owners have been saying for years. There is no substitute for a firearm. If you truly want to protect you and yours, you must be willing to learn, practice, and carry a firearm, there is not substitute. As Col. Jeff Cooper said: ""Fight back! Whenever you are offered violence, fight back! The aggressor does not fear the law, so he must be taught to fear you. Whatever the risk, and at whatever the cost, fight back!"

Quote for the Day

"The lesson of history, and it's an important one, is that bureaucrats and political administrations left unchecked will eventually trample the rights of everyone. By virtue of what they are, they place a lower value on civil rights than their own self-interest. As they can become the downfall of any nation, it would be wise to learn from history." -- Kevin Avram

Guess They Missed This One, Or Where Was This Government Memo

"An end-of-year college block party spiraled out of control as police fired pellets and used pepper spray to break up hundreds of rioting students who sparked a string of street fires at Kent State University.

Video posted on the Internet shows students hurling furniture and street signs into the flames on Saturday night as a SWAT team in riot gear converged on the crowd. Kent police said the party grew violent after one reveler was arrested and students began pelting officers with bottles, bricks and rocks." [link]

In the age of the government memo's that is labeling everyone they can name as an extremist, where was the memo on this. This type of behavior is extremist and not just spur of the moment. Why didn't the government know about the extremism here.

Quote for the Day

"Religion and good morals are the only solid foundation of public liberty and happiness." -- Samuel Adams

Another MIAC Style Report

"A new report produced by a branch of the Virginia State Police portrays the state's colleges and universities as potential breeding grounds for terrorism.
The 200-page report, intended for distribution to law enforcement, intelligence and military organizations, says "a wide variety of terror or extremist groups" have links to Hampton Roads and singles out the area's two historically black universities for special mention." [link]

Well so far these "fusion centers" have labeled whites, blacks, conservatives, veterans, educated, uneducated...ah hell, who haven't they labeled? Why doesn't the government just come out and say we're scared to death of just about everyone in America because we realize we have been doing them wrong for so long and are now afraid it is almost time to pay the piper.

Another Campus Shooting

"A spokeswoman for Hampton University in Virginia says shots were fired in a dormitory and three people were taken to a hospital with injuries...The school remains on lockdown while police investigate." [link]

For the life of my I have never been able to understand the logic of lockdown's. If there is still a shooter in the vicinity the last place I would want to be would be in the same area.

Someone is Full of It!

"...Barack Obama unveiled new steps on Saturday to restore U.S. fiscal discipline..."

I laughed until it hurt after reading this sentence, then I finished reading the sentence and it really hurt:
"...including support for legislation that would require Congress to pay for any new programs by raising taxes or cutting other expenditures..." [link] Now do you really think Congress is going to stop spending money? .... What is gonna happen to your paycheck now?

"Earlier this week I held my first Cabinet meeting and sent a clear message: cut what doesn't work," --Barack Obama [link]

Keep in mind Obama "demanded" a $100 million cut by his cabinet. Don't worry with the fact that this amount was only roughly one-twentieth of 1 percent of March's federal deficit [source]

I only have this to say to you Chairman Obama, go take a flying leap you sociofascist/Marxist, commie loving, freedom hating, community organizing, spend other's money, blame someone else, keep your change, piece of ...!

Quote for the Day

"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." -- Margaret Thatcher

Happy Debt Day!

"The symbolic "holiday," which falls on Sunday, marks the point in the fiscal year when government spending exceeds revenue.

In other words, the government will stop making money and start borrowing on Sunday.

And it's coming earlier than ever, according to House Minority Leader John Boehner, who's pointing to Debt Day as yet another symptom of a government he says is spending too much, borrowing too much and taxing too much. Last year's Debt Day fell more than three months later, on Aug. 5.

"All the revenue for this fiscal year will be spent as of Sunday," Boehner, R-Ohio, said. With the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, he said, "everything that happens after Sunday through ... the balance of this fiscal year is going to have to be borrowed from our kids and grandkids." [link]

Isn't it nice to know that because of an out of control government every child that will born from this point forward will be "indebted" to the tune of between $30-$50K (dependent upon sources). Stop and think about that for just a moment. Each and every child born, in order to payoff government debt effectively is born owing the U.S. Government $30-$50K dollars. Good thing we live in the land of the free isn't it?

Spend it Like You Got it O!

"...Obama has shown he isn't afraid to spend billions of dollars on corporate bailouts or to run up trillions of dollars in U.S. debt to battle an economic crisis.

But in doing so, he has initiated the largest expansion of federal government since World War II and set up a massive challenge for his administration -- one that officials are already warning will be fraught with peril.

...Timothy Geithner told a congressionally appointed oversight panel this week that America's banks are still broken, despite all their bailout billions. And an inspector general assigned to the bailout program concluded this week that a private-public partnership designed to buy up bad assets is tilted in favor of private investors and creates "potential unfairness to the taxpayer." [link]

So everything is still broke, money has been created out of thin air, the size of the federal government has doubled in size in less than 100 days, and all this is supposed to be good and bring about "change" and "hope".

Quote for the Day

"It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error." -- Robert H. Jackson, US Judge (1892-1954)

Obama Legal Team Wants to Limit Defendents Rights

"The Obama administration is asking the Supreme Court to overrule long-standing law that stops police from initiating questions unless a defendant's lawyer is present, another stark example of the White House seeking to limit rather than expand rights.

The Justice Department, in a brief signed by Solicitor General Elena Kagan, said the 1986 decision "serves no real purpose" and offers only "meager benefits." The government said defendants who don't wish to talk to police don't have to and that officers must respect that decision. But it said there is no reason a defendant who wants to should not be able to respond to officers' questions." [link]

That's nice let's just kick off a bigger Police State Party. Let us not forget some of the wonderful insights into how much the "Only Ones" will actually respect a decision of someone not to talk and other travesties they will attempt to pull off because they feel they can hide behind a shield.

Barney Frank: Enemy of Total Freedom

“I would let people gamble on the Internet,” Frank said. “I would let adults smoke marijuana; I would let adults do a lot of things, if they choose."

He added: “But allowing them total freedom to take on economic obligations that spill over into the broader society? The individual is not the only one impacted here, when bad decisions get made in the economic sphere, it causes problems.” [link]

Interesting how he can allow some freedoms and not others. Freedom is not as easy as pick and choose Barney Rubble. Freedom also comes with responsibility, you make a bad choice your likely to get bit on the ass by it later on. Prime example was forcing banks to make loans in all areas where they operate. Forget about low-income families living in these areas, just force the banks to make the loans then swallow the losses. That is what has gotten us in this mess.

In the past a family, individual, whatever goes in for a loan and the bank would pretty much know if they could make payments or not. If you could wonderful sign by the X and give us $XXXXX each month. If you couldn't sorry, "You need a larger down payment." Or, "You may want to think about something more in your price range."

Freedom works by guiding individuals to make choices that are best for them, because they will get rewards from good choices, and quite the opposite from poor choices. Yes, in a way poor decisions have got us into this trouble, however in the past these decisions would not have been allowed to take place to start with.

Quote for the Day

"That officer is General Fraser; I admire him, but he must die. Our victory depends on it. Take your stations in that clump of bushes, and do your duty." --Daniel Morgan to Timothy Murphy (legendary sharpshooter who supposedly shot General Fraser from his saddle at 330 yards with an American long rifle).

How Long Before...

How long do you think it will take this to make it across the border. Then get blamed on lax gun laws, and the "gun show loophole". By the way, where can I get one?

Oath Keepers vs. Oath breakers

From today's GRE column.

Quote for the Day

"The sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in interfering with the liberty of action of any of their number, is self-protection." -- John Stuart Mill

3 Cheers for Government Ran Educa...Indoctrination Centers

"...a nationwide study shows the magnitude of the gap: the average high school graduation rate in the nation’s 50 largest cities was 53 percent..." [link]

Wonder if there is any correlation to being uneducated, unemployable, and the amount of crime in a given area? If so, wouldn't that make the government responsible since they fund these schools that are failing? Just something to think about.

One Hurdle Overcome in Wisconsin

"Madison gun owner Auric Gold said he often carries a handgun in a holster while walking in his east side neighborhood, a right that attorney general J.B. Van Hollen affirmed in a memorandum to prosecutors on Monday."

"To me it's a very different issue whether you're walking down Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee with a gun on your hip and . . . if you're carrying a hunting rifle through a town during hunting season," Doyle said.." [link]

You are so correct Heir Doyle a hunting rifle during hunting season is a tool to harvest game. A gun on your hip in Milwaukee is a tool to protect your life and the lives of your family. I can see which one would hold the most importance for you. Oh, but I am sure you have an armed security detail with you don't you?

Excellent news here. Wisconsin is one of only two states (Illinois being the other) that do not allow concealed carry. Good to see that at least those that wish to protect themselves at least have an option now. Could be better, but you take what you can get, when you can get it. Just keep up the fight and keep pushing for concealed carry in Wisconsin.

Amerikan and Chinese Education Join Forces

"U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan has signed a formal educational partnership agrement [sic] with the Peoples Republic of China, a Communist regime that, according to the U.S. State Department, subjects political dissidents to reeducation through labor." [link]

Well at least in China they can learn the value of a hard days work. Here in Amerika a vast majority of parents send their children to get reeducated via government public education.

Is This How It Works Obama?

"The top 10 recipients of the government's $700 billion financial bailout spent about $9.5 million on federal lobbying during the first three months of the year.

The biggest spender was bailed-out automaker General Motors Corp., which devoted $2.8 million to lobbying in the first quarter of 2009. It has received $13.4 billion in government loans and could get $5 billion more, according to a government report released Tuesday." [link]

Let me see if I understand this correctly? The government gives taxpayer money to organizations that have grossly mismanaged money and have not been able to earn a profit and are on the verge of going bankrupt. In return these same companies turn around and give some of the money to federal lobby's in order to secure even more money. Makes you wonder how much taxpayer money these scum have also contributed to scum in suits known as "Congressional Members"?

Quote for the Day

"The natural cure for an ill-administration, in a popular or representative constitution, is a change of men." -- Alexander Hamilton

More Reports on the FBI and Domestic Spying

We have already looked at one case where the FBI were spying on law abiding citizens. Now we have another.

"Two FBI workers are accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on teenage girls as they undressed and tried on prom gowns at a charity event at a West Virginia mall.

The FBI employees have been charged with conspiracy and committing criminal invasion of privacy. They were working in an FBI satellite control room at the mall when they positioned a camera on temporary changing rooms and zoomed in for at least 90 minutes on girls dressing for the Cinderella Project fashion show, Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said Monday." [link]

I wonder what these agents were looking for. Also wonder if any of these teenagers were underage. If so then we have a sex crime and will need to register these FBI agents into a centralized system...ran by the FBI. Hmmm, wonder how this will end up turning out?

Quote for the Day

"What a perversion of the normal order of things! ... to make power the primary and central object of the social system, and Liberty but its satellite." -- James Madison

That's Mighty Big of Him

"President Obama on Monday plans to gather his Cabinet for the first time as president and challenge it to cut $100 million in the next 90 days, two senior administration officials said." [link]

This huge cut equals roughly .00012% of the massive $785 billion porkulus bill. How about you look at some of the pork in that bill and see what kind of cuts can be made right off the top.

Do you think Obama actually think this $100 million ploy will work to appease the public. I am sure that for some it will. Step back and look at what this administration has already spent. This is not a challenge it is more like spitting in the faces of the American people.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of Amerika

"If you one of the estimated 750,000 Americans who attended one of about 600 TEA parties last week, you might have seen media cameras covering the event. Media cameras, however, were not the only cameras taking video at these events, something that has at least one current FBI agent concerned over the future of America...placed his concerns for true patriots of the U.S. over his own career when he confided that covert surveillance was “planned and performed” at each of the TEA parties that took place last Tuesday." [link]

Isn't that nice to know. Wonder when law abiding Americans who have the right to peaceably assemble, the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the right to speak freely became the enemy? Could it be they became the enemy when those that have no love, or regard for this great nation or our Constitution came into power? And I am not just talking about Obama, Bush probably did more damage to the Constitution than Obama has done. But when will it end? When will the government that is supposed to be ran by the people, allow the people to do as they will so long as they do not infringe on the rights of others?

A Declaration of Seperation

Copied and re posted in its entirety from Free and Unashamed. Only editing and link changes were made.

To The Governments & People of Earth:

We claim the right to exist, and we will defend it.

We do not seek to overthrow anything. We do not seek to control anything. We merely wish to be left alone.

All we ever wanted was to live in peace with our friends and neighbors. For a long, long time we bore insults to our liberty; we took blows, we did what we could to avoid injury and we worked through the system to get the offenses to stop. That has now changed.

We no longer see any benefit in working through the world's systems. At some point, working within a system becomes cowardly and immoral; for us, that point has arrived. Regardless of the parties in power, their governments have continued to restrict, restrain and punish us. We hereby reject them all. We hereby withdraw from them all. We hold the ruling states of this world and all that appertains to them to be self-serving and opposed to humanity.

We now withdraw our obedience and reclaim the right to strike back when struck. We will not initiate force, but we do reserve the right to answer it.

We did not choose this — it was forced upon us.

To The Governments of Earth:

You are building cages for all that is human. In the name of protection, you have intruded into all areas of human life, far exceeding the reach of any Caesar. You claim ultimate control of our property and our decisions, of our travels and even our identities. You claim ownership of humanity far beyond the dreams of any Emperor of any previous era.

Understand clearly: We reject your authority and we reject your legitimacy. We do not believe that you have any right to do the things you do. You have massive power, but no right to impose it upon us and no legitimacy. We have forsaken you. We are no longer your citizens or your subjects.

Your systems are inherently anti-human, even if all their operators are not.

We are not merely angry young people. We are fathers and mothers; aunts, uncles and grandparents; we are business owners and trusted employees; we are mechanics and engineers and farmers. We are nurses and accountants and students and executives.

We are on every continent.

This is not a burst of outrage; this is a sober declaration that we no longer accept unearned suffering as our role in life.

For long decades we sat quietly, hoping that things would turn around. We took no actions; we suffered along with everyone else. But after having our limits pushed back again and again, we have given up on your systems.

If our fellow inhabitants of this planet wish to accept your rule, they are free to do so. We will not try to stop them. We, however, will no longer accept your constraints upon us.

From now on, when you hurt us, we will bite back. If you leave us alone we will leave you alone and you can continue to rule your subjects. We are happy to live quietly. But if you come after us, there will be consequences.

You caused this because of your fetish for control and power. The chief men and women among you are pathologically driven to control everyone and everything that moves upon this planet. You have made yourselves the judge of every human activity. No god-king of the ancient world ever had the power that your systems do.

You have created a world where only the neutered are safe and where only outlaws are free.

To The People of Earth:

We seek nothing from you. We do not want to rule you and we do not want to control you.

All we wish is to live on earth in peace. As always, we will be helpful neighbors and generous acquaintances. We will remain honest business partners and trustworthy employees. We will continue to be loving parents and respectful children.

We will not, however, be sacrificial animals. We reject the idea that others have a right to our lives and our property. We will not demand anything from you, and we will no longer acquiesce to any demands upon us. We have left that game. We reject all obligations to any person or organization beyond honesty, fair dealing and a respect for human life.

We will shortly explain what we believe, but we are not demanding that you agree with us. All we ask is that you do not try to stop us. Continue to play the game if you wish; we will not try to disrupt it. We have merely walked away from it.

We wish you peace.

To Those Who Will Condemn Us:

We will ignore you.

We welcome and seek the verdict of a just God, before whom we are willing to expose our innermost thoughts. Are you similarly willing?

We would stand openly before all mankind if it were not suicidal. Perhaps some day we will have to accept slaughter for our crime of independence, but not yet.

Your criticism and your malice are much deeper than mere disagreements of strategy or philosophy. You do not oppose our philosophy, you oppose our existence. Our presence in the world means that your precious ideals are false. Some of you would rather kill us than face the loss of your ideologies, just as those like you have either hated or killed every sufficiently independent human.

You present yourselves to the world as compassionate, tolerant and enlightened, but we know that your smooth words are costumes. Oh yes, we know you, servant of the state; don't forget, we were raised with you. We played with you in the schoolyard, we sat next to you in the classroom. Some of us studied at the same elite universities. We watched as you had your first tastes of power. We were the boys and girls standing next to you. Some of us were your first victims. We are not fooled by your carefully crafted public image.

What We Believe

  1. Many humans resent the responsibilities that are implied by consciousness. We accept those responsibilities and we embrace consciousness. Rather than letting things happen to us (avoiding consciousness), we accept consciousness and choose to act in our own interest.
We do not seek the refuge of blaming others, neither do we take refuge in crowds. We are willing to act on our personal judgment, and we are willing to accept the consequences thereof.
  2. We believe in negative rights for all: That all humans should be free to do whatever they wish, as long as they do not intrude upon others; that no man has a right to the life, liberty or property of another; that we oppose aggression, fraud and coercion.
  3. We do not believe that our way of life, or any other, will make life perfect or trouble-free. We expect crime and disagreements and ugliness, and we are prepared to deal with them. We do not seek a strongman to step in and solve problems for us. We agree to see to them ourselves.
  4. We believe in free and unhindered commerce. So long as exchanges are voluntary and honest, no other party has a right to intervene — before, during or after.
  5. We believe that all individuals should keep their agreements.
  6. We believe that honestly obtained property is fully legitimate and absolute.
  7. We believe that some humans are evil and that they must be faced and dealt with. We accept the fact that this is a difficult area of life.
  8. We believe that humans can self-organize effectively. We expect them to cooperate. We reject impositions of hierarchy and organization.
  9. We believe that all humans are to be held as equals in all matters regarding justice.
  10. We believe that the more a man or woman cares about right and wrong, the more of a threat he or she is perceived to be by governments.
  11. We believe that there are only two true classes of human beings: Those who wish to exercise power upon others - either directly or through intermediaries - and those who have no such desires.
  12. Large organizations and centralization are inherently anti-human. They must rely upon rules rather than principles, treating humans within the organization as obedient tools.

Our Plans:

We are building our own society. We will supplement traditional tools with networking, cryptography, sound money, digital currency and anonymous messaging.

Our society will not be centrally controlled. It will rely solely on voluntary arrangements.

We welcome others to join us. We are looking for people who are independent creators of value, people who act more than talk, and people who do the right thing because it is the right thing.

We will develop our own methods of dealing with injustice, built on the principles of negative rights, restitution, integrity and equal justice.

We do not forbid anyone from having one foot in each realm - ours and the old realm - although we demand that they do no damage to our realm. We are fully opposed to any use of our realm to facilitate crime in the old realm, such as the hiding of criminal proceeds.

We expect to be loudly condemned, libeled and slandered by the authorities of the old regime. We expect them to defend their power and their image of legitimacy with all means available to them. We expect that many gullible and servile people will believe these lies, at least at first.

"Disperse you rebels; damn you, throw down your arms and disperse!" --Major John Pitcairn, British Marine

"Stand your ground; don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." --Captain John Parker, Lexington Militia, April 19th 1775

"I'm not afraid to go, and I haven't a man that's afraid to go." --Captain Isaac Davis on his willingness to defend a town that was not his own.

"Fire, For God's sake fire!" --Major John Buttrick on seeing Captain Isaac Davis fall at the North Bridge

"..on the Return of the Troops they were attacked from all Quarters where any Cover was to be found, from whence it was practicable to annoy them, and they were so fatigued with their March that it was with Difficulty they could keep out their Flanking Partys to remove the Enemy to a Distance, so that they were at length a good deal pressed." --From General Thomas Gage's report on the battle

You know the rest. In the books you have read
How the British Regulars fired and fled,---
How the farmers gave them ball for ball,
From behind each fence and farmyard wall,
Chasing the redcoats down the lane,
Then crossing the fields to emerge again
Under the trees at the turn of the road,
And only pausing to fire and load.
From Longfellow's "Paul Revere's Ride"

Quote for the Day

"Rightful Liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add "within the law" because the law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." -- Thomas Jefferson

When Seconds Count

"I may get killed with my own gun, but he's gonna have to beat me to death with it, 'cause it's going to be empty." --Clint Smith

Excellent Gun Rights Examiner column today. Go here to read it yourself.

Supreme Court Judge Willing to Give Up U.S. Sovereignty?

"...the Supreme Court's sole female justice told a group of budding lawyers in Ohio that U.S. courts, including her own, should refer to foreign law when deciding cases and that any squeamishness about that was just a "passing phase."

"Ginsburg asked, "Why shouldn't we look to the wisdom of a judge from abroad with at least as much ease as we would read a law-review article written by a professor?" [link]

Well madam Ginsburg, how about the "wisdom" of a judge that states: "The law, passed last month, says a husband can demand sex with his wife every four days unless she is ill or would be harmed by intercourse — a clause that critics say legalizes marital rape. It also regulates when and for what reasons a wife may leave her home alone." [link]

We won't even bother to discuss that pesky Constitution thing that you took an oath to uphold. You know the supreme law of the land for the United States, but why let a small thing like that bother you.

Let's Waste More Taxpayer Money

"Barack Obama has announced his "vision for high-speed rail" in the country, which would create jobs, ease congestion and save energy.

He said the US could not afford not to make the investment in 10 routes.

Six of the routes already approved, including California and Florida, could get some of the $8 billion (£5.4bn) earmarked for rail improvements." [link]

Let's not even bother to mention that there is not a public transportation model in the United States ran by a government agency that makes a profit, not one. Amtrak does not and cannot make a profit, so why should we (taxpayers) sink more money into public transportation that will not be able to do what is promised.

Liberty Is a Bitter Pill

I have wrote before that liberty is not easy, and we all know that it is not free. However what a lot of people fail to realize is that liberty is also a bitter pill. A bitter pill, but not a toxic one. To truly embrace liberty, I must also be willing to allow the same types of liberty to others.

This often times means allowing others to act in a way that I find immoral, unethical, and personally reprehensible. However, as long as they do not violate my rights, or anyone else's rights then by all means allow them to do as they wish, it is their life, their conscience, and their soul.

Gun owners in particular, it has been said, don't care whether you personally decide to own a gun or not, if you decide not to, then do not infringe on the rights of those that choose to do so. That is your personal choice and you are free to make it, just don't try and force your beliefs on us.

Drug usage is the same way. Use what you want to, when you want to, how you want to, but your using had better not infringe on anyone else's rights. Get behind the wheel of a vehicle, you deserve what you get, if not worse. OD, don't expect my unlawfully gained tax dollars to pay for your lifesaving medications.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture. There are plenty of choices and lifestyles that I find wrong for many different reasons, but that does not give me the right to say that they are wrong and should be forbidden, banned, outlawed, etc...

Let each person choose their own way in life so long as it does not keep you from choosing yours. If whatever someone else chooses infringes on your rights, then you have the right to do something about it. If what someone chooses does not interfere with your rights but only enrages you morally, ethically, etc... then if you are a liberty lover you will allow them to do as they please, choose what label fits you best: socialist, fascist, hatemonger, etc... Just remember if you feel you are right in taking someone elses rights, then what stops someone else from taking yours. This is the difference between the bitter pill and the toxic pill.

Quote for the Day

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms [of government] those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny." -- Thomas Jefferson

FIGHT BACK!

An excellent example of citizens fighting back in any way that they can. [story here] When anyone attempts to limit your rights in any manner they should be treated like the enemies of freedom that they are. They should be looked on as using force to subvert your rights, and we all know what Col. Cooper says about people using force against you: "Fight back! Whenever you are offered violence, fight back! The aggressor does not fear the law, so he must be taught to fear you. Whatever the risk, and at whatever the cost, fight back!"

Maybe If We Tell The Same Lie Often Enough...

"Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Wednesday made an assertion -- cited in the past by Mexico's U.S. ambassador and even by U.S. leaders, but debunked as a myth -- that 90 percent of the weapons intercepted in Mexico come from the U.S." [link]

How often will this evident lie continue to be promulgated as fact! Evidently they are working on the assertion that if you quote the exact same lie often enough over time, people will start to believe it. So what needs to be done, is to counteract this lie every time we see it with the truth to set the record straight. When those that continue to attempt to spread this lie start looking like the complete fools that we know they are then part of our job will be complete.

The Tax Man Cometh!

"... we conclude that the [Federal] Reserve Banks are not federal ...
but are independent privately owned and locally controlled corporations...
without day to day direction from the federal government." --9th Circuit Court Lewis v. United States June 24, 1984

"I don't like the income tax. Every time we talk about these taxes we get around to the idea of 'from each according to his capacity and to each according to his needs'. That's socialism. It's written into the Communist Manifesto. Maybe we ought to see that every person who gets a tax return receives a copy of the Communist Manifesto with it so he can see what's happening to him." --T. Coleman Andrews

"It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder." --Frederic Bastiat

"But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime." --Frederic Bastiat

"Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property in geometric progression as they rise." --Thomas Jefferson

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." --Thomas Jefferson

"Nothing is so well calculated to produce a death-like torpor in the country as an extended system of taxation and a great national debt." --William Cobbett

God Bless Texas

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.” [link]

Excellent job Texas, keep up the good fight!

Quote for the Day

"Most Americans aren't the sort of citizens the Founding Fathers expected; they are contented serfs. Far from being active critics of government, they assume that its might makes it right." – Joseph Sobran

For the Sake of the Children: Is It Now Time to Ban Health Care Workers?

"Hundreds of patients in Chicago-area hospitals, including children, are at risk for tuberculosis after a doctor-in-training tested positive for the disease... Hundreds have been exposed. At Children's Memorial alone, it is estimated that approximately 150 children and 300 employees were exposed. So far, no one, including the resident's family members, has tested positive for the disease." [link]

What is the world coming to. Physicians are already regulated, registered, tested, etc...by the government and yet this still happens. I have already wrote about the dangers of physicians and health care professionals to any one's well being. They are in fact the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. Yet we continue to come up with these problems. Evidently the registration is not working as intended, I guess for the sake of the children and the safety of all involved we should just ban this profession all together.

He Sure Sent Them a Message...

"Undeterred by U.S. and French hostage rescues that killed seven bandits, Somali pirates brazenly hijacked three more ships in the Gulf of Aden, the key waterway that's become the focal point of the world's fight against piracy." [link]

The "bold" strategic maneuvering of Obama and Secretary of State Clinton really seem to have made the Somali pirates think twice about hijacking another ship. In fact they thought so hard about it that the hijacked 3. I guess now instead of a chuckle from Clinton, we might get to see a good honest belly roll full fledged laugh-a-thon. I can also assume that it will take roughly three to four days for Obama to issue any type of statement, possibly longer.

Quote for the Day

"Now I know what a statesman is; he's a dead politician. We need more statesmen." -- Bob Edwards

Blood Pressure Raiser

"Kevin Johnson, 22, was brutally murdered by the gang who invited him to 'meet Mr Stanley' during a confrontation outside his home moments before plunging a blade into his chest, arm and back.

The young father collapsed a few feet from his front door whilst the trio - aged 19, 16 and 17 - ran off in 'triumphant mood' before stabbing their second victim a short distance away.

But after applying for a maximum £11,000 in compensation Mr Johnson's family have been told that they do not meet the criteria as he tried to fight off the gang who took his life.

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority has twice rejected John Johnson’s case. They ruled that the demolition worker had 'significantly' contributed to his own death." [link]

Read that very carefully. And compare with the views of many politicians in DC. Those that protest to the lawful caring, possession, ownership, etc...of a firearm by a law abiding citizen. If we "lose" that God given right via legislation, is this how they will protect us?

MIAC, But at the Federal Level!

"A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats." [link]

How can anyone trust a government that does not even trust its own citizens? These "reports" are getting ridiculous. Let's get out our history books and look up the Gestapo, the KGB, the Red Scare and Joseph McCarthy, etc... Remember those that forget our history are doomed to repeat it.

Lying Piece of Excrement

"Auturo Sarukhan, the Mexican ambassador to the United States, repeated and defended his claim that 90 percent of the weapons intercepted in Mexico come from the U.S.

During an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, Sarukhan said on the Arizona and Texas borders with Mexico alone, roughly 7,000 licenses for federal firearms had been granted.

"And a lot of the weapons that are being bought by the drug syndicates, either directly or through proxy purchases, are coming from those gun shops," he said." [link]

What do you reckon this lying piece of dog excrement has to gain from this? Prove your claim, or keep your mouth shut. The evidence is against you. Mexican drug cartels are not arming themselves with semi-auto configurations. They are going full auto, explosive, rocket launcher, etc... You just can't buy these items at your friendly neighborhood gun store.

Quote for the Day

"In America, freedom and justice have always come from the ballot box, the jury box, and when that fails, the cartridge box." -- Steve Symms, US Senator from Idaho, 1990

The Answer Lies in History

I have been following with careful attention the issue of piracy in Somalia and many other areas of the world recently. I was very interested in seeing how the Obama administration would handle this whole issue, and am sorry to see they have handled it like everything else, sorry. For a man that quoted the founding fathers during his train ride to the inauguration he had only to look at one of our founding fathers for a remedy to this piracy situation. Back when the nation was young, Thomas Jefferson faced a similar situation. However then as opposed to now the pirates Jefferson had to deal with were much better armed than the United States. Jefferson dealt swiftly with the pirates of the Barbary Coast, and sent a clear message that American ships would be left alone.

Support For Gun Control at All Time Low

Not exactly the numbers I would like to see, but at least the trend is heading downward. Go to the link and see the rest of the report. [link]

Simple Truth About Concealed Carry

"More guns in the hands of honest people makes society safer, and makes the career choice of the criminal more dangerous. That is obvious to everyone ...except for certain people who wish to do things to you which you would not allow if you were able to effectively resist. Carrying weapons concealed gives the good guy a tactical advantage over the bad guy. If the bad guys are unsure who may be carrying, they are less likely to act. They can't watch everyone all the time." [link]

Very well stated and simply put. There is more of this excellent article, just follow the link.

Just Downright Despicable

Despicable! I was truly horrified by the way this was done and the malicious intent behind it. Do what you will with it. If I discuss it anymore my head might pop off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhLq9NPLv0M

Quote for the Day

There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." -- James Madison

Skip That Doctors Appointment, Buy a Gun Instead

"We have 32 people being murdered by guns every day in this country," said Michael Wolkowitz, a board member of the Brady Center, which lobbies for tighter gun restrictions. "If peanut butter or pistachio nuts or spinach killed that number of people once in one day, they'd be pulled by the [Food and Drug Administration]." [link]

Ok, Mr. Wolkowitz, let's look at your "logic" in two parts. Part I: If there are 32 murders a day that comes to the unfortunate total of 11,680 people a year murdered by guns in the United States. Unfortunately murderers are criminals and by definition criminals will not follow the laws. They will find a way around any and all gun control regulations, as they do already. So that statistic is irrelevant.

Let's look at the the second part of your statement. Part II: I am assuming that by using the word "pulled" you mean banned, regulated, restricted, etc...such as you would like to see with firearms. Well we can look at other things that cause more than 11680 deaths per year in the United States and see how hard they are to come by.

Wait a minute, how about if I can show you something that is responsible for roughly 225,000 deaths per year, but when I pick up my phone book is far more prevalent than gun stores, firearms, or sporting goods in the yellow pages. How about physicians! Yes believe it or not physicians and the health care establishment as a whole are the third leading leading cause of death in the United States behind cancer and heart disease. [source]

Yet I can go see a doctor anytime I want to. How come they are still allowed to practice? Why aren't they being "pulled" by a government agency? Go spread your lies and your untruths elsewhere.

As for me, I have a cough and a sniffle, but for some reason I think I will head to the range now instead of the doctor...

The Police Will Protect You.

"...DeLucia called police after being shot along with another receptionist who was killed...DeLucia, 61, stayed on the phone for 38 minutes, guiding police and trying to provide them with information to prevent more people from being shot." [link]

So with multiple shots fired there is still a response time of 38 minutes give or take? Isn't one of the arguments of gun-grabbers the police will protect you?

More on Canadian Gun Control

The other day I wrote a post about Canada looking at ending their long gun registry. We now have some more news from our neighbors to the north...

"It should be a no-brainer.

The registry of long guns in Canada, that has cost the country over $2 billion with little or no effect on shootings, accidental or otherwise, should never have been implemented.

Why no federal government (until now) has moved to disband the whole thing stands as testimony to the hesitancy if not cowardice of politicians... Of all homicides, 2.3% have been committed with registered guns. Hand guns are the weapon of choice for criminals. And they've been registered in Canada since 1934, with legal ownership further restricted since 1968. Yet the percentage of their use in crimes hasn't varied much over the years." [link]

Looks like gun control hasn't worked up there. Seems the only thing it might do is prevent law abiding people from protecting themselves, and their loved ones.

Quote for the Day

"You vote yourselves salaries out of the public funds and care only for your own personal interests; hence the state limps along." -- Aristophanes

Selling Us off Piece by Piece

"U.S. congressional budget analysts have raised their estimate of the net cost to taxpayers for the government's financial rescue program to $356 billion, an increase of $167 billion from earlier estimates.

The Congressional Budget Office had originally projected the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program would cost taxpayers $189 billion." [link]

Just a small bookkeeping error folks nothing to worry about. We will just add on a small percentage increase of roughly 88.35% from the original total.

Now let me ask anyone who reads this. What would your reaction be if you went to any place of business or tried to get any type of service done, received an estimate on the cost of said service/item, and when the time came to pay there was a total price increase of more than 88 percent? How many of you would actually pay then?

Americans need to stop feeding the government with our hard work and labor if they continue to pull these types of tricks. Enough is enough. It is not right that my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, etc...will have to pay for the mistakes our government has made. Government spending must cease immediately.

Then What is the Purpose?

"Owners of more than 5,000 firearms previously unknown to NSW police have come forward during the first month of the state government's gun amnesty.

Police Minister Tony Kelly says 796 firearms have been surrendered in the first month of the amnesty...

However, Mr Kelly doesn't expect anyone involved in crime to be among those coming forward to surrender or register guns during the three-month amnesty.

"I'd expect none, if any, have come from hardened criminals," he said." [link]

At least he will openly admit that the intent here is not to get the guns out of criminal hands. Now the question needs to be asked, if the purpose is not to remove weapons from criminals, then what is your purpose? The only answer here is control pure and simple. Because we say so, you must obey. Besides, if you can't fight back you have to follow whatever orders the man in the uniform with the gun tells you.

Quote for the Day

Pittsburgh Shootings

"Three Pittsburgh police officers killed by gun-loving maniac; afraid Obama would limit gun rights...

A gun-loving lunatic who was afraid President Obama would ban firearms killed three Pittsburgh cops Saturday in a blizzard of bullets, police and witnesses said."

"The implications here are clear: gun owners, and those who believe in the right to keep and bear arms are maniacs and lunatics, all to be judged based on the actions that took place here.

This story is still developing. You can click here for updates." [link]

Does anyone not need to start asking the question, what is causing this rampage of shootings? Were there this many acts of massive violence when Bush was in office? Let me make it clear very quick, that I am in no way supporting Bush's presidency, he was just one in a long line of Constitution Shredders. However he was a bit more friendly to gun owners than Clinton was.

Dare I mention that it is possible that there might be something to furthering the gun-grabbers agenda involved in all of these sudden acts of violence. Maybe we should do well to remember the words of Obama's chief of staff: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste," --Rahm Emanuel.

We Need to Keep an Eye on This

"Guatemala - After several months of debate, the Guatemalan Congress approved the Weapon and Ammunition Control Law, considered essential to reduce violence.

The regulation reduces to one the four licenses previously granted to each citizen to buy armaments, and they are able now to buy three weapons instead of 12, as previously established.

It also stipulated several requirements before granting the permit, including a clean criminal record and passing psychological assessment, income certification and proof of employment." [link]

Anyone willing to make odd what the outcome will be in the long run?

What About These Deadly Weapons

If the media likes to portray firearms as evil and how much they must be strictly regulated how about we also go after these horrible weapons of destruction.

"The reason for the assault, cops say, was a poorly made meatball sandwich. Specifically, the cheese placement was all wrong, which infuriated Toppin. "That was the catalyst," police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said."

Maybe we could even look into strict regulation of who can and can't make meatball sandwiches.

In Reality, Nearly Ninety Percent of Mexican Cartel Weapons DON'T Come From U.S.

"It has been widely reported that 90 percent of the weapons used in the Mexican drug cartel wars come from America. As it turns out, that statistic is simply incorrect. According to the figures obtained from ICE and ATF officials by Fox News, only about 17 percent of the weapons recovered from cartel-related crime scenes in Mexico actually originate in the United States." [link]

Imagine that, we have been lied to by the media. Can anyone figure out why the media would lie to us? For the past several weeks this has been a big news story, the media telling us how many guns from America are pouring across the border and into the hands of drug cartels. Wonder if/when the news outlets will issue a retraction and say "We're sorry we goofed, our numbers were incorrect." It really is not that hard to do, I have had to do it when I made a mistake. Why don't they?

Quote for the Day

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." -- Thomas Jefferson

Government Overseen Preventive Gunownership?

By now nearly everyone has heard of the plan to have all physicians, hospitals, clinics, etc... place all of their patients medical files into a central database so they can be "easily accessed by other providers". If we lived in a perfect world there would be no problem with this, it would allow quick access between doctors to a persons medical records, which could streamline a lot of processes. The main critics of this plan point out that the government itself would be the entity that would provide the "central hub" for all computerized medical records, thus allowing the government access to your own private medical records.

Now we have this coming up, "An influential government-appointed medical panel is urging doctors to routinely screen all American teens for depression -- a bold step that acknowledges that nearly 2 million teens are affected by this debilitating condition." [link]

What some of you may be aware of and some of you may not be aware of is the NICS Improvement Act of 2007 more commonly known as the Veterans Disarmament Act. What it does is allows for the barring of firearms ownership to anyone who is "adjudicated as a mental defective."... by a government psychologist or psychiatrist in the VA, Medicare, or the IDEA program. However, that would all change with the Veterans Disarmament Act, as it will CODIFY regulations that BATFE has issued." [link]

In other words the Law muddies the language quite a bit and leaves a lot to be interpreted. So it could be possible that all of these teenagers that may be screened for depression (a mental disorder), could later in life be barred from owning a firearm.

I know all of this is pure conjecture at this point, but would anything surprise you with the United States Government at this point. Look at all of the things that are going on and the liberties being taken from us now that our parents or grandparents would have laughed at 50 years ago. They would have said there is no way that will happen in America.

Quote for the Day

"Nowadays, for the sake of the advantage which is to be gained from the public revenues and from office, men want to be always in office." -- Aristotle

Cowering in Fear = Safe to Some

"A six-hour lockdown prompted by a fatal shooting near a Virginia campus was lifted as police continued a search for the gunman.

In a series of phone calls, e-mails and text messages, students were being warned that the university was on lockdown.

Police searched buildings on the sprawling campus of 7,500 students for the gunman, but at 3 a.m. students received a message stating the lockdown had been lifted and the campus was safe." [link]

Well as safe as you can be I guess if you are not allowed to arm yourself for your own personal defense. But this is what these people want. They do not like personal liberties, personal responsibility, and an ability to fend for oneself. They prefer to have all the power over each and everyone of us. They don't care if that gets innocents killed, because they can always then blame someone or something else and "make things better".

Canada Looks at Ending Gun Control

"The federal government introduced a bill in the Senate on Wednesday to abolish the long-gun registry.

"It's totally inefficient and ineffective against crime," Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan, told reporters on Parliament Hill." [link]

"For years now researchers at places like the American CDC, for instance, have found absolutely no evidence to suggest that gun control is at all tied to reductions in crime rates. Gun control isn’t about safety or crime. It’s about, well, control." [link]

Well it seems that our northern neighbors (at least a few of them) are starting to get it. Wonder how long it will take for the rest of America to understand as well.

Taxes: Because the Government Needs Money, and Can't Let You Become Wealthy

"President Obama's budget keeps the estate tax at its 2009 level, which means the government gets 45 percent of a dead person's estate valued over $3.5 million dollars or $7 million for a couple..."People who aren't wealthy, who may have built up value in land over generations and many family farms find themselves in situations where they've got to sell the farm in order the pay the taxes," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio..."The total repeal would have a substantial additional impact on revenues," said Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C. "And this is also a time when we need to -- we simply can't be profligate about tax cuts. And we think we struck a good balance." Yet Obama's own top economic advisor, Larry Summers, took an interesting position on the passage of wealth from one generation to the next. "The evidence presented indicates that intergenerational transfers account for the vast majority of aggregate U.S. capital formation," he wrote in a study that he co-authored in 1980." [link]

Well, there we have it, the two quotes in bold that gets it out in the open. One representative of the United States government has admitted clearly that taxes are to keep the government afloat and not for the good of the people, and another one says that taxes death taxes are a means to spread the wealth. Let that sink in for a bit, then go read the Declaration of Independence and see how our founding fathers thought about oppressive taxes, and what they did to handle the situation.

Quote for the Day

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. -- James Madison The Federalist Papers, No.45

Gun Free Zones (Not Applicable to Criminals)

If Gun Free Zones are supposedly so "safe" how can you explain how these things happened within 1000 yards of a campus, or a so called "Gun Free Zone"?

"On 3/16/09 at about 12:00 AM, an armed robbery occurred on Third Street near Spring Street....On 03/16/2009 at approximately 12:30 AM, a Georgia Tech student was robbed at gunpoint on...On 03/14/2009 at 4:30 AM, a Georgia Tech student was robbed at gunpoint...On 03/16/2009 at 11:50 PM, a Georgia Tech student and his wife were robbed at gunpoint...

Experience demonstrates that the law does not deter criminals from using firearms. The only known result of the "school safety zone" law is to make it known to predators in Atlanta that there are "easy pickings" in and around college campuses, since students, faculty, and law-abiding visitors scrupulously obey the "school safety zone" law and disarm." [link]

You would think by now everyone would begin to understand criminals don't care about what the law says. All you do is force a law abiding person to either give up their right to defend themselves, or force them to break the law by deciding it is in their best interest to be armed regardless of the law for their own protection.

More About Democrats and Their Fear of Guns

"ORANGE PARK – Got Guns?

That’s what a Clay County Republican Party flier promoting a "2nd Amendment Day" in April asks all who pick it up.

County GOP Chairman Leslie Dougher says the party is reacting to growing concerns among its members that President Barack Obama may try to limit gun ownership, particularly handguns.

Not everyone thinks the idea of increasing gun ownership is a good idea. Any effort to put more guns on the street is wrong headed, says the head of the Clay County Democratic Party.

"There are too many guns," said Thomas Nazworth, Democratic Party chairman. "You’ve already got every right to defend yourself in your home. What is this going to be the wild, wild west where everybody has got sidearms? That is not answer." [link]

Haven't they tried the "wild west" argument in the past? Didn't really pan out for them though did it, considering there is usually a drop in violent crime in states that pass concealed carry laws. I do agree that is not a good idea to put "more guns on the street", they may get run over, you could mar the finish, scratch the wood, put them in contact with corrosive road flotsam and jetsam, etc...

Also, isn't it funny that a lot of gun owners are labeled as "bitter clingers". Yet Democrats have been "bitterly clinging" to this "wild west" argument for years.

Free Healthcare Anyone?

"In the past six years, eight people from Austin and one from Luling racked up 2,678 emergency room visits in Central Texas, costing hospitals, taxpayers and others $3 million, according to a report from a nonprofit made up of hospitals and other providers that care for the uninsured and low-income Central Texans. One of the nine spent more than a third of last year in the ER: 145 days. That same patient totaled 554 ER visits from 2003 through 2008." [link]

Yet you here calls for universal healthcare. Heads up, we have universal health care. We really do need reform in healthcare, but not the type the politicians want us to have. We need a way to keep those that abuse the system from having their bills payed by hardworking Americans that don't spend 145 days in the ER.

Quote for the Day

"To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." -- Thomas Jefferson
