OH, MY! We can not allow local law enforcement to be uninformed about vital information dealing with ongoing criminal investigations can we?

But wait lets dig into this a bit deeper...a few snippets if you will

• Releasing the information serves no useful purpose.
• Traced guns aren’t always “crime guns”; firearms may be traced for reasons unrelated to any armed crime.
• Trace information remains available for law enforcement use.[Wait a minute I thought this was one of their reasons for wanting to repeal, that law enforcement did not have access?]
• Both BATFE and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) oppose release of trace data.
• Even the current language has allowed too many disclosures of sensitive information.

Sounds to me like the only thing gained from repealing this would be to further his (Obama) anti-2nd Amendment agenda.

I Never Knew One Even Existed

Now just try and explain to me how someone who supports the United States Constitution is unacceptable for a seat in a body who's every member takes an oath to uphold the Constitution?

Sounds to me like we need to start finding a bunch of short ropes and tall trees to deal with all the treason that is going around in Washington.

Every Gun You Own Will Become Contraband

Yep, you read it right. There is currently a bill introduced in this session (111th) of Congress that calls for mandatory testing of gun owners, plus a tax, a biometric capable photo of yourself, and fingerprints. And if you can't pass the written test or provide anything else asked for guess what? "Every gun you own will become contraband and subject to confiscation, while you stand trial before imprisonment."

'For the children...'

Once more, we hear the minions of gun control starting their high pitched trills. Obama is using the same old tired phrases, "common sense gun laws", "making guns in this country childproof", etc...ad nauseum.

Well I am tired of it, and so are many others. There are currently +20,000 gun laws on the books as of right now, today, at this very hour, at the exact moment you are reading this. We do need any more. How about distilling them into about a dozen or so: No violent criminals may own, possess, attempt to own, attempt to possess, etc... I think we can make that possible with half a dozen to a dozen laws.

HURRAY! MONTANA: Striving For True 2nd Amendment Rights

House Bill 228, is an excellent example of state politicians actually helping out the citizens of their state. All states should adopt this type of legislation. A brief snippet of what this bill contains

• Clarifies the ability of law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm in plain view and to display the firearm for harmless defensive purposes;
• Allows a person who can lawfully possess a firearm and who doesn’t use it to commit a criminal offense to carry it concealed anywhere in the state without first obtaining governmental permission.

Committee Approves Gun Rights Bill

This is fine and all, but I am about damn tired of all these "steps" in the right direction.

When are people going to realize how little freedom, we, as individuals, actually have left, and start demanding it back, and then if we don't get it, by God we take it back!

How about a law that requires, no DEMANDS, any and all judges that sit on any bench in the United States of America that they must, under strictest penalty of law fully inform a jury of it's right not only to judge the facts in the case, but the law itself. That they may request a statute of the law to read, and that if they find the law incomprehensible or confusing they may acquit on that grounds alone. Or imagine this, they have the right to even vote with their conscience.

We can go further, how about we start looking at every single law passed since 1912. If the law in any way, shape, form, or fashion, violates any part of the United States Constitution, then anyone who helped to bring this law into being be charged with treason, and brought to trial, and if convicted, face the harshest penalty available for their treasonous actions, which would be death. Yep you heard me since 1912, we even disinter the dead traitors and put their corpse(s) on trial and if convicted we hang the bones from the courthouse steps. It would be a national roundup of traitors to the United States. We could start with all past members of Congress living or dead (I am not a cold hearted bastard, this would give those still serving a chance to change their ways and repeal every single oppressive, freedom violating, Constitutional infringing law they ever passed). Wouldn't this send a message to all future members of Congress.

What? some of you say. This is ridiculous! You are a raving lunatic! Am I? lets look for a minute at, 16 Am Jur 2d, Sec 177 late 2d, Sec 256, more commonly known as Unconstitutional Official Acts. It very simply states in layman's terms that, "The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statute, to be valid, must be In agreement. It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail...Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principles follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it..."

Also let's not forget the fact that every member of Congress takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. Any action taken contrary to what the Constitution allows is a breach of this oath, and treason against the United States.

I tell you what, before we jump into any hasty actions let's just send a copy of 16 Am Jur 2d, Sec 177 late 2d, Sec 256, to each and every one of our state and federal representative with a note that says they have 2 months to act and repeal every law, rule, regulation, etc... that violates the Constitution. If not, "We the People" will start taking action!

I am forced to ask several questions here. Why are colleges even admitting remedial students? Why not have them better prepared before admittance?

However, we need to remember that throwing money at education has never been proven to help better prepare students or make them better scholars. The blame here should be on public education, and parents who "allow" their children to be "educated" in public schools.

I guess Obama and all his parties won't have to give as much, or at least not until the inauguration is over...

Statism at its "Best"

That's a total of 42,500 armed government officials prowling the streets of Washingon. This disturbs me greatly. Since when did active-duty soldiers start becoming a private security force. I always thought that was prohibited. Oh yes, but I keep forgetting, the government is not really prohibited from doing anything, only us citizens. How many private citizens do you think will be allowed to carry openly or concealed in Washington?

Let's not even get into the enormous cost to state and federal budgets this will cause. Even though the economy is in the worst shape it has been in, arguably, since pre-WWII. But that's OK, it's for the benefit of the citizens, who will be allowed to "marvel" at the show of "splendor" and of "power" that the government will display for them.

I know, I am a week late on this. But I am still quicker than the government is on understanding and following it's limits as defined in the United States Constitution.

Well now, you have to be kidding me? I thought they were all socially well adapted, law abiding, peace loving citizens. Who wanted nothing more than the collective good of all of society.

They Will Never Learn

I have given up hope long ago that very few if any members of Congress understand what is going on in America. It is also evident that they forget they work for "we the people", but that is blatantly obvious every single day. The only logical conclusion that can be made is a vast majority of Congressional representatives are either criminally insane and/or are only there to line their own pockets.

In the midst of a recession that is effecting nearly every single hardworking American we are now subjected to this drivel that continues to spew forth from DC. I am sorry Rep(rehensible) Waxman, but you cannot legislate how companies are to run while yet taxing, and regulating them into bankruptcy. Your plan calls for "...limiting greenhouse gases, calling for an 80 percent emission reduction by mid-century with half of that coming by 2030. It calls for a ramp up of 20 percent reduction as within a dozen years." Yet I did not notice where you called for abolishing their taxes so they could get this started in their R&D departments.

This type of thinking has worked so well in the past, remember when you forced American car makers to follow mandatory government regulations on fuel economy, mandatory government regulations on hybrid vehicles, mandatory regulations on... I could go on, but you all never learn so what is the point. Other than a massive bailout of the auto industry which was in large part caused by Congress trying to legislate how things should be done instead of letting the market do that itself.

So now you are going to force more companies and industries into more regulations, and thus into another vicious cycle. However, this time it will effect every single American. Because this time you are going after the industries that produce electricity, and I do not know of very many Americans that do not rely on electricity in some form or fashion on an almost daily basis, even though it ""...will not be cheap and not be easy," warned James Rogers, chairman of Duke Energy Corp."

What "we the people" now get to look forward to along with crippling taxation at every level, soon to be staggering inflation due to fiat money being used for "the Bailout", and any number of other issues that will be/have been caused by Congress, will now be energy costs that skyrocket due to more mandatory regulations.

Soon there will be no more blood left to drain. Then where will Congress turn?

Well now, isn't this a shame. A persistent, violent, felony offender complaining about his TV being taken from him. Mr. (and I use this loosely) Cross has proven time and again that he does not care about the rights and privileges of others. Having been sent to prison for robbery, burglary, wanton endangerment, etc...

This reprehensible vermin should be lucky that he is allowed 3 meals and a bed to sleep in. Seeing as that Kentucky is facing a severe budget shortfall, and I can guarantee you in the long run it will be us taxpayers footing the bill, how about we start taking from those that have taken from us to begin with. Start contacting your local leaders, state representatives, and state senators and demand of them that before they raise taxes one additional fraction of a percent that they start cutting costs at jails, prison's and other types of detention facilities. Let me make clear, I am not saying to cut salaries, hours, benefits, etc... of employees of these facilities, but instead to take a look at "privileges" offered to inmates. Start by completely cutting these items out.

Here are a few I can think of: TVs, magazines, books, heat(set the thermostats lower in winter save on electric), air(set the thermostats higher in summer save on electric), have them purchase with their own money hygiene articles(the cheapest that can be bought), or have them pay for whatever they can out of pocket. Any of the items they must have (clothing, bedding, hygiene articles), make them pay out of pocket as stated before, but charge them in order to make a profit. Wouldn't have to be much even a penny or two an item would work. Wait a minute, here is a novel idea, have them pay for as much of their upkeep as possible.

To hell with those that constantly take from society and community and then cry, yell, and complain they are being treated unfairly. Inmate Cross is lucky to be housed in a state of the art prison with all the amenities. He could just as easily have been shot and killed by one of his victims (I will go ahead and say we would probably all be better off if this had been the case).

I would go on more, but I think I will start contacting my representatives in government right away and make my thoughts known.

My Favorite Movies (Some with comments)

These are in no particular order. I might actually cause myself to have a brain hemorrhage if I tried to put this list in order.

1. Pulp Fiction (Very violent, very funny, not for the faint of heart)
2. Monty Python's The Holy Grail, and The Life of Brian (I still find myself quoting these).
3. Seven (Absolutely brilliant detective movie, also has some conspiracy elements).
4. The Usual Suspects (talk about plot twists and turns).
5. Suicide Kings (talk about plot twists and turns, with the benefit of Christopher Walken).
6. Heat (excellent, very realistic gun handling, director Michael Mann is a perfectionist when it comes to firearms and proper handling).
7. Silence of the Lambs (I feel no comment is needed).
8. Donnie Darko (very odd, time travel?, parallel universe?, Drew Barrymore?).
9. Troy (excellent depiction of Homers epic, not to mention really cool fight scenes).
10. The Last Samurai (excellent movie, great moral value, cool fight scenes).
11. Reservoir Dogs (nearly as violent as Pulp Fiction, more nail biting here though).
12. The Wall by Pink Floyd (for those that have seen it in a certain context nothing else needed)
13. Easy Rider (A very funny Jack Nicholson role).
14. The Patriot (wonderful portrayal a small part of the Revolutionary War, I wish all Americans would watch this at least once).

A Few Thoughts on Handguns

Handguns are a topic of much debate these days. Today I will not discuss the political aspect, but one of the many practical aspect of handguns.

If you are going to carry a handgun for personal protection (and I don't know why anyone wouldn't), there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, carry a gun you are comfortable with and know how to use. This might seem self evident at first, but you would be surprised by how many people carry based on what a friend has, what the guy behind the counter told them to get, brand loyalty, etc... Buy a gun that fits your hand, is comfortable, and is easy for you to manipulate the controls.

Next, buy enough gun! This part will need some explaining. I see no need to carry a little bitty .22 no matter how small and easy to conceal it is, or a .25 for that matter, neither are enough gun. At the least go for a .32. Now here is where it starts to get really tricky. Get a gun that you will carry with you everywhere. I understand that that caliber and knockdown power are a must in a pistol, but don't buy something that you cannot, or will not have with you at all times. It is impractical and impossible to carry and conceal a Smith & Wesson .500 Mag. Although it will definitely pack enough punch. Here is where even the lowly .32 trumps the big dogs, at least you will have it with you when you need it.

There are plenty of knowledgeable shooters out there that say don't carry any handgun that the first number is not at least a "4". Most of the time I agree with this, but if you are of small frame, elderly, bothered by recoil, etc... this just won't work for you. You will have to go with the .32, the .380 auto, 9mm, .38Special, etc... Nothing at all wrong with that, if that is all you can manage. Anymore there are advances in ammo nearly everyday and with the right defensive load and practice nearly all will work as intended.

I am sure some of you are wondering by now what I carry? Well that depends and I will explain. I have two different carry pistols one a bit larger than the other. Which one I carry depends upon what type of clothing I will be wearing. The handgun that is always with me is a Kel-Tec .380 in a Nemesis pocket holster. It will fit in a jacket pocket, a pants pocket, pretty much anywhere I want it to go. When clothing permits, it is also my backup handgun and I conceal it somewhere on my weak side. It is very small and concealable. However it does take a bit of extra practice because of its small size. The other handgun I carry regularly is a Glock 27 in .40S&W. It is larger, with more recoil, but more effective. It usually rides in a Fobus paddle holster, but I have also been experimenting with some inside the waistband holsters.

So there you have it a few brief thoughts on carrying a handgun. This is just a starter topic and thoughts on what to look for if you decide to carry. I will get into more detail later about practice drills and other thoughts about concealed carry, but that will be for another post.

It is things like this, that almost literally make my blood boil. I challenge anyone to show me in the Constitution of the United States of America where I have the right to own a firearm solely for "sporting purposes". The founders meaning and intent are very clear about the 2nd Amendment, it's entire purpose is not to protects sporting firearms, but for use against tyrannical governments and bureaucrats who overstep their bounds and infringe on personal liberties. The 2nd Amendment is about keeping individuals free and not slaves to a ruling class. The 2nd Amendment is about my God given right to protect myself, my family, and my loved ones from anyone (or any entity) that attempts to harm them. The 2nd Amendment is about the right for American civilians to be just as well armed as the army.

Don't believe me? Do some research on what Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Hamilton, etc... actually wrote about individual firearm ownership. You don't even have to look into what historians (even pro-2nd Amendment) "thought" their intentions were. It is plain as day, maybe I should give just a few short quotes from some of our founding fathers to demonstrate:

There is plenty more out there, all you have to do is look. However if you refuse to believe that as and individual you have the right, the power, and the duty to protect yourself, your family, and your loved ones. That you think the government can do a much better job for you, then I leave you with one final quote:

Harry Reid Should Swing

When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.

Taken verbatim from the 17th Amendment of the United States Constitution. In layman's terms: When a senate seat is vacant, the governor of a state has the power, right, and duty to appoint a new senator until elections take place. Providing that his state legislature has given him the authority.

Illinois is one such state that does allow for the governor to appoint senators when there is a vacancy. Governor "Blago" has done just such a thing and has the whole power of the United States Constitution behind him. Yet Harry Reid, the president of the senate, refused to allow the lawfully appointed Roland Burris be seated as a United States Senator. This is a direct breach of his oath to uphold and protect the Constitution. It does not matter what "Senate Rules" say,or how long they have been in effect. In fact that is a scary topic all in itself. Is it possible for Senate rules to subvert and override the Constitution itself?

For these crimes against the United States and it's people. Senator Reid should be arrested, indicted, tried, and if convicted swing from the nearest tree.

I understand there are those out there that would argue the governor is corrupt, his appointment might be for personal gain, etc... All this does not matter for several reasons. First, he has acted within his Constitutional authority to appoint someone to a vacant senate seat(that should be enough there), secondly, ever heard of that "innocent until proven guilty" phrase?, and lastly he was acting within his Constitutional authority.

Something Strange in Congress

Well here goes, my first official post about what I believe.

There is currently a bill in Congress known as "The Enumerated Powers Act". I would almost guarantee that very few if any of you have ever heard about it. The strange thing about this bill is that all it does is demand of Congress that for every bill voted on that it "contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional authority" of said bill. In other words, Congress would have to point to the specific part of the United States Constitution that authorized this bill in the first place. Otherwise this bill could be held up on technicalities(I think it should be banned forever, shredded, spit on, set on fire, and its ashes scattered to the four corners of the earth).

I see no problem why this bill should not pass. In fact if it does not pass it is an affront to the Constitution itself because every member of the legislative, judicial, and executive branch must swear an oath to "defend the Constitution". If one of our public servants does anything to go against the Constitution that is referred to as treason, and after a fair trial, if convicted, they should swing from the nearest tree.

In fact this particular bill by Representative John Shadegg (R–AZ), has been proposed ever since 1995. Contact your representative in Congress and find out if they did or did not support this bill. If they didn't start looking for a tall oak tree...

Intro

Thanks for finding, or stumbling onto this sight. I will get it up and running in a few days. The idea and inspiration for this blog is to discuss issues dealing with freedom. Not the "freedom" we are granted at present, but true freedom.

I plan on adding something weekly, possibly several times a week. This will depend on usage and the time I have to actually write and post. Please check back every couple of days for new or added content. Please feel free to leave comments as well.
