Statism at its "Best"

"...7,500 active-duty soldiers, 10,000 National Guard troops and 25,000 law-enforcement officers..." [complete article]

That's a total of 42,500 armed government officials prowling the streets of Washingon. This disturbs me greatly. Since when did active-duty soldiers start becoming a private security force. I always thought that was prohibited. Oh yes, but I keep forgetting, the government is not really prohibited from doing anything, only us citizens. How many private citizens do you think will be allowed to carry openly or concealed in Washington?

Let's not even get into the enormous cost to state and federal budgets this will cause. Even though the economy is in the worst shape it has been in, arguably, since pre-WWII. But that's OK, it's for the benefit of the citizens, who will be allowed to "marvel" at the show of "splendor" and of "power" that the government will display for them.

Personally, I will be at home reloading...

I would like for everyone to show their support for the first Black American President by purchasing a black rifle (AR's n such) instead of the historic memorial plate for commemoration!:) Do your part in making sure that our history written over 200 years ago remains in tact and in preservation.

I share your Libertarian viewpoints. Our "leaders" in Washington have declared themselves to be the new elite, an aristocracy that is above the law and has no love or use for the Constitution as it puts constraints on their zeal for power. The continuous erosion of our God given freedoms is a heartbreak for all of us who love liberty. I pray for our country that it is not too late to turn the hearts of our citizens away from socialist slavery and back to the narrow but worthy path of freedom.

Now, if those troops would just arrest all the goverment employees (congress, judges, president) and supporters, we might be onto something.
