HURRAY! MONTANA: Striving For True 2nd Amendment Rights
House Bill 228, is an excellent example of state politicians actually helping out the citizens of their state. All states should adopt this type of legislation. A brief snippet of what this bill contains
- Clarifies the ability of law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm in plain view and to display the firearm for harmless defensive purposes;
- Allows a person who can lawfully possess a firearm and who doesn’t use it to commit a criminal offense to carry it concealed anywhere in the state without first obtaining governmental permission.

This is fine and all, but I am about damn tired of all these "steps" in the right direction.
When are people going to realize how little freedom, we, as individuals, actually have left, and start demanding it back, and then if we don't get it, by God we take it back!
How about a law that requires, no DEMANDS, any and all judges that sit on any bench in the United States of America that they must, under strictest penalty of law fully inform a jury of it's right not only to judge the facts in the case, but the law itself. That they may request a statute of the law to read, and that if they find the law incomprehensible or confusing they may acquit on that grounds alone. Or imagine this, they have the right to even vote with their conscience.
We can go further, how about we start looking at every single law passed since 1912. If the law in any way, shape, form, or fashion, violates any part of the United States Constitution, then anyone who helped to bring this law into being be charged with treason, and brought to trial, and if convicted, face the harshest penalty available for their treasonous actions, which would be death. Yep you heard me since 1912, we even disinter the dead traitors and put their corpse(s) on trial and if convicted we hang the bones from the courthouse steps. It would be a national roundup of traitors to the United States. We could start with all past members of Congress living or dead (I am not a cold hearted bastard, this would give those still serving a chance to change their ways and repeal every single oppressive, freedom violating, Constitutional infringing law they ever passed). Wouldn't this send a message to all future members of Congress.
What? some of you say. This is ridiculous! You are a raving lunatic! Am I? lets look for a minute at, 16 Am Jur 2d, Sec 177 late 2d, Sec 256, more commonly known as Unconstitutional Official Acts. It very simply states in layman's terms that, "The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statute, to be valid, must be In agreement. It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail...Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principles follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it..."
Also let's not forget the fact that every member of Congress takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. Any action taken contrary to what the Constitution allows is a breach of this oath, and treason against the United States.
I tell you what, before we jump into any hasty actions let's just send a copy of 16 Am Jur 2d, Sec 177 late 2d, Sec 256, to each and every one of our state and federal representative with a note that says they have 2 months to act and repeal every law, rule, regulation, etc... that violates the Constitution. If not, "We the People" will start taking action!

Colleges Try to Minimize Remedial Work: Or How Public Education Truly Works

I am forced to ask several questions here. Why are colleges even admitting remedial students? Why not have them better prepared before admittance?
"Unless school districts get more involved helping students on the front end...[colleges] might have to cut back on how many under-prepared students they take."
Well now there is an idea(sarcasm).
However, we need to remember that throwing money at education has never been proven to help better prepare students or make them better scholars. The blame here should be on public education, and parents who "allow" their children to be "educated" in public schools.

I Thought We Were on the Brink of a Deppression

This doesn't surprise me whatsoever. Just another proof that Washington is all about money and not about what the Constitution set it up to be. Obama in an interview with George Stephanopoulos says, "Everybody's going to have to give," Obama said. "Everybody's going to have to have some skin in the game." [link for article]

Statism at its "Best"

That's a total of 42,500 armed government officials prowling the streets of Washingon. This disturbs me greatly. Since when did active-duty soldiers start becoming a private security force. I always thought that was prohibited. Oh yes, but I keep forgetting, the government is not really prohibited from doing anything, only us citizens. How many private citizens do you think will be allowed to carry openly or concealed in Washington?
Let's not even get into the enormous cost to state and federal budgets this will cause. Even though the economy is in the worst shape it has been in, arguably, since pre-WWII. But that's OK, it's for the benefit of the citizens, who will be allowed to "marvel" at the show of "splendor" and of "power" that the government will display for them.
Personally, I will be at home reloading...

Citizen's Declaration of Non-Disarmament
It is time to speak plainly for the good citizens of this nation who believe unbendingly in the Constitution of the United States of America...

Though foreign governments may disarm their subjects, we will not go down that road. We will not disarm and see our freedoms stripped away. The lessons of history are numerous, clear and bloody. A disarmed population becomes an enslaved population. A disarmed population is without power, reduced to a child-like obedience to the organs of a parental state. A disarmed population will lose those basic rights for which the citizens of America risked their lives and fortunes over 200 years ago.
The right of self-protection is the most fundamental right of all. It is a right that must be exercised against the predators of the streets, against the predators hidden within agencies of law enforcement, and against the most dangerous predators of all—those to be found in government, whose insidious grasping for power is relentless and never-ending.

They Will Never Learn
I have given up hope long ago that very few if any members of Congress understand what is going on in America. It is also evident that they forget they work for "we the people", but that is blatantly obvious every single day. The only logical conclusion that can be made is a vast majority of Congressional representatives are either criminally insane and/or are only there to line their own pockets.
In the midst of a recession that is effecting nearly every single hardworking American we are now subjected to this drivel that continues to spew forth from DC. I am sorry Rep(rehensible) Waxman, but you cannot legislate how companies are to run while yet taxing, and regulating them into bankruptcy. Your plan calls for "...limiting greenhouse gases, calling for an 80 percent emission reduction by mid-century with half of that coming by 2030. It calls for a ramp up of 20 percent reduction as within a dozen years." Yet I did not notice where you called for abolishing their taxes so they could get this started in their R&D departments.
This type of thinking has worked so well in the past, remember when you forced American car makers to follow mandatory government regulations on fuel economy, mandatory government regulations on hybrid vehicles, mandatory regulations on... I could go on, but you all never learn so what is the point. Other than a massive bailout of the auto industry which was in large part caused by Congress trying to legislate how things should be done instead of letting the market do that itself.
So now you are going to force more companies and industries into more regulations, and thus into another vicious cycle. However, this time it will effect every single American. Because this time you are going after the industries that produce electricity, and I do not know of very many Americans that do not rely on electricity in some form or fashion on an almost daily basis, even though it ""...will not be cheap and not be easy," warned James Rogers, chairman of Duke Energy Corp."
What "we the people" now get to look forward to along with crippling taxation at every level, soon to be staggering inflation due to fiat money being used for "the Bailout", and any number of other issues that will be/have been caused by Congress, will now be energy costs that skyrocket due to more mandatory regulations.
Soon there will be no more blood left to drain. Then where will Congress turn?
